I called and cancelled actually. I was up all night (literally, I finally fell asleep at 6:30am) stressing about it so I decided against it.

Certainly do what you're most comfortable with. I have seen dozens and dozens of women who have had an amnio and none have had any problems beyond mild cramping in the day following the procedure. Complications can arise, but they're rare.
