Alright embarrassing question, but I'm going to throw it out there!
If you trim or shave your nether region, did you continue to do so until your due date? I'm just about 32 weeks and this task seems absurd right now. So I'm thinking I might just ignore it....although I hate the feeling of being u groomed. All I know is that the last time I attempted, there was definitely blood involved.

I do my own wax and after 20 weeks or so it wasn't possible anymore. I shaved a few items but sort of let it go. Then I actually did a clean shave while I was in (early) labor. Very slowly and carefully!

I did the best I could with a little of DH help TBH I have no idea what it looked like at 40wks

I get waxed, not super regularly but probably every 3 mo or so. It's actually mostly for comfort! I had to get it done when I was pregnant because it gets too itchy! Now that's tmi. Lol!!! Now, 14 weeks postpartum, it's getting irritating again, plus I want to take my baby swimming and will therefore have to wear a swimsuit. But it's like the last thing I feel like doing! I wish I could do it myself.

@junebugsmama: I've never gotten waxed before, and truthfully I'm afraid to start when I'm pregnant! I've herd that you are so much more sensitive when pregnant!

My OB recommended no grooming after 30 weeks in case of emergency c-section. Something about increased infection.

I just trim things with an electric trimmer, and I continued that last time up until the end at 33 weeks. I was doing it blindly though. I'll try to do the same this time, because it drives me bonkers if I don't. I'm not sure I'm up for having DH help.

I shaved until I cut myself badly. I got a wax at 35 weeks and the day before I was induced.

Im 32 weeks, and this is my first pregnancy but so far I have been blindly shaving everyday. My husband offered to help me, but so far I have been fine on my own. I think I have a little problem, I am so neurotic about having any stubble on my legs, pits, and crotch that I can not sleep at night I did not shave that day. I plan to continue to blindly shave until I give birth and can eventually see again!

I trimmed things with an electric razor but close to the end I let it all go. It was impossible to contort my body in order to see myself in the mirror.

I use nair, and it is by far the best thing I have found because you can slather it on in front of the mirror and wash it off blindly.

This is one of those things I prefer to pay a professional to do LOL. Do you have a European Wax Center near you? First one is free and their wax is amazing. They're pretty inexpensive too

I didn't worry about it. But I had several sessions of laser hair removal years ago, so it's not too bad.

I used an electric trimmer so that at least what was there was short. I feel uncomfortable if it's long. There was no risk of cutting myself so I could do it blind once that region was no longer visible.

I'm having the same problem. DH is no help b/c he prefers me to have more hair, not less.

I only did before doctors appointments (cervical checks) & did it by sitting on the shower floor and feeling my way around. Haha!

I eventually quit trying.
I'm a nurse and I just can't imagine that anyone involved in my delivery cared what things looked like down there.

I shaved myself up until around 25 or 26 weeks and then after that I had dh to shave me every other week and then I had him shave me a few days before my DD

I gave up around 27-30 weeks. I get terrible ingrowns with waxing no matter what I do and DH would not help me out. I didn't care much since I couldn't see it.

@Coffee-lover: Totally with you on the obsessive shaving, except I don't do crotch. But I can NOT sleep if my armpits aren't shaved, and I can only skip on legs if I wear leggings so I can't feel it. I'll shave my armpits multiple times a day sometimes.

I used an electric trimmer and a mirror to stay trimmed. I just can't stand the feeling of a full on bush. lol And for me personally I feel better/cleaner afterwards with all the blood and stuff if I'm trimmed.

I got laser hair removal a couple of years ago, and it was 90% effective, but with the pregnancy hormones some more came back. It was really slow and sparse, so I would just wax myself from time to time or if I was really lazy just shave. Honestly, I was pretty inconsistent, especially once I couldn't see anything down there! Lol! At around 38-39 weeks, I waxed everything using a mirror. I guess I'm flexible, but it was a lot of muscle memory. A couple of days before I went into labour, I just cleaned everything up with a razor. My thinking was that it would be cleaner for post partum recovery. So far it has been.

Once I had DH do it haha! But other than that, I couldn't see nor did I care so I just let it go.

@oliviaoblivia: Really?? I had a scheduled c-section and they had to shave me before doing the surgery. My incision is WELL below my hairline.

@ValentineMommy: yep. They would prefer to do the shaving themselves. She said that it's unlikely that I sterilize my razor and that any minute cuts in the skin could introduce infection to the surgical site. I happily obliged.

@LBee: I just put one leg high up on the shower wall and kind of "peered over" my belly from the side..... haha. I made sure I locked the bathroom door, though, so my husband never walked in on that sight. He'd be scarred for life!
