Anyone see this? She just rubs me the wrong way.

Wow! I wonder if she will have any kind of comment in response to that? I think anyone who is a mother is pretty insensitive to say anyone has it easier than anyone else.

It is just SO hard being a famous movie star making millions of dollars each year!
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please, continue telling us about your torturous lifestyle, while blowing your delicate nose in hemp seed encrusted, $100 bills. *snort*

good grief. I like the snarky comment posted in the article. "It is my mantra."

Ugh, Gwyneth. I think she should've just spoken about her experiences and not made any comparisons to other mothers. I can see how traveling on a whim and 14 hour days can be hard, but seriously? She does one movie a year. She has a buttload of money and help. She needs to go sit in a corner and get a new publicist.

I couldnt stand this woman 15 years ago when she wasnt married with kids and still with Brad Pitt and stuff like this is why I still cant stand her to this day. What with her lack of touch with reality in trying to relate to mothers and totally alienating them with her its good to eat healthy and thats why I have my fishmonger deliver fresh fish to us weekly attitude. This lady needs to just go away

Good thing she doesn't have to "work" those other 50 weeks a year! But seriously, I think her major mistake here is comparing herself to any other mom -- being a mom is difficult and everyone faces their own challenges.

This woman is a genuine idiot. Can you imagine how out of touch you'd have to be to say that knowing it'll be printed? It's actually hilarious.

I don't know why she felt the need to compare her life to the life of anyone else. She has her head in the clouds, that one.

Wow, I never really had an thought much about her.. until now, and not in a good way.

@photojane: This.
I never had a real opinion about her until recently. Between that story about her goop outfit totaling $450,000, or something obscene, and then this... "how to lose friends and alienate people."

Ugh. My life as a multimillionaire with access to nannies, maids, chefs, personal trainers, private jets , personal shoppers & assistants is just SO hard. *stomps foot & pouts* Boo friggin hoo lady. Cry me a river.

I'd love to hear what her mom has to say about this since she's a working actress too. Did her mom have the same Hollywood struggles as she does (sarcasm font)?

Poor thing It must be really difficult managing her staff of cooks, trainers, house cleaners, and nannies AND have to work at the same time

Her head has always been in the clouds so this latest interview is no surprise!

I guess I'm in the minority but I get what she's trying to say. There is a certain ease to routines. She didn't frame it in the best way especially when you take into account other things she's said.

Having the option to retire tomorrow and still have millions of dollars must be really difficult. Maybe its a publicity stunt to draw away from the split.

She must be Marie Antoinette in her past life Actually I doubt if she could understand the sarcasm in that open letter article, and she may think a regular working mom is really as easy (if not easier) as she imagined.

I love it when people take comments by anyone, especially celebrities out of context. It doesn't matter how much money you have. When you travel as a working parent, you still miss your kids the same. I have no feelings towards Paltrow good or bad but really think people are blowing her comment way out of proportion.
From personal experience, it IS easier to sit at my desk for my day job than it is to travel for work when I have to. She's right. When you're home, you can get stuff done. When you're traveling (or on-set for her) you don't get that option. So then you come home and have to do 5 days worth of chores you missed time doing during the week on the weekend, the only time you get with your family.
Sure the experience of an average working and traveling parent is different from a movie stars, but I agree, it IS different. And that's what she said.
"I think it's different when you have an office job, because it's routine and, you know, you can do all the stuff in the morning and then you come home in the evening. When you're shooting a movie, they're like, 'We need you to go to Wisconsin for two weeks,' and then you work 14 hours a day and that part of it is very difficult. I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as, of course there are challenges, but it's not like being on set."

Ba-hahaha! She's ridiculous, isn't she?!! Does she actively want people to hate her!?
Still, it must genuinely be hard not to see her children for days on end. Yeah, she has all the paid staff to help her, the £450k outfits and the acupuncture at 9.30 every night (she urges us to try it!!) but I'd forgo all of that for that moment every morning when I walk into my girl's room and she beams. That hour, in which I feed her porridge and sing Twinke Twinke. And bathtime giggles - every single night.
PS - DH has just reminded me that she could forgo all of that to spend time with her children and still be worth millions of dollars. Good point!

@mediagirl: I can appreciate what she's trying to say, but at the end of the day, she can up and decide she doesn't want to travel for work/work 14 hour days for an infinite amount of time and her family's lifestyle doesn't have to change one iota because of it. She has all the millions she could possibly want. That's a luxury not many moms (traveling or not) have.
I think she should have said "being away from my kids is very difficult" which is totally valid rather than trying to compare her very fortuitous situation to others.

^ burn.
I do think @mediagirl has a point, but it still comes off as very out of touch. If she were a politician, her campaign would be over now.
