I know he won't remember or care and that the party is for the parents but damn it I'm sad! 
j has only been sick two times in his life and number 3 is of course the night before his bday he woke up w/a fever and it spiked up to 104* by lunch. Went to the dr and he has no idea what's actually wrong. He has NO other symptoms...:/
I'm just busy having a pity party.

@babyjmama: Sorry. You're doing what's best.. it just sucks! Have your pity party.. I would be bummed to. Hopefully your LO will recover very quickly and you can reschedule for when he's feeling better!

I'm so sorry to hear that! What a huge bummer. How is his fever doing, now?
Definitely make some cupcakes and fill the house with streamers or balloons, to keep the festivity going. Do you think most of your party guests would be amendable to a reschedule?

@deerylou: his fever is lower but still there, we are alternating Tylenol and ibuprofen and making sure he's getting lots of fluids.
My best friend has a LO just a couple months older than J and he had a double ear infection and sinus infection on her first bday so we are going to have a joint makeup bday BBQ

@babyjmama: That sounds like a great idea! Sorry your lo wasn't well today though! G was sick on during his first birthday... there weren't any other kids though so rescheduling wasn't really a concern.

Aww! I hate that he was sick for his birthday! At least he'll get a make up party!
DS was sick for his first birthday too. He went from being fine that morning to horrible that night. We ended up taking him to the ER and he had croup. Not exactly how I thought we'd spend his first birthday!
