Since being pregnant, I've noticed that my hair is way less oily! It's been awesome because I have to wash it way less.
Did your hair change when you were pregnant? How?

Mine grew insanely fast, which was followed by a TON falling out and reallllllly slow growth PP. Made me regret my "mommy chop" because it ended up being more high maintenance than I predicted and took forever to get long enough to look decent worn up. Which let's face it, is a HUGE part of my mommy uniform.

@MelisMc: Oh yes!! I experienced this too. Not until after LO was born, but the rate at which the greys are showing up is shocking. Womp womp.

My hair was great when I was pregnant...it stopped falling out so it looked so thick

So interesting that there are lots of different changes.
Anybody know what causes the less-oiliness? Just hormones? (That's my answer for everything these days. Ha!)

My hair felt less oily, but not sure if it was because I was pregnant a majority of the time during the winter/spring months. Now, omg, I have to wash my hair every other day it seems, but I try to hold out if possible to see if my scalp will regulate itself!
@mfa_lady: yea, definitely hormones. As you said, it's the answer to everything while pregnant and during PP! lol

My already thick hair got even thicker and my semi kind of sort of half wavy hair got wavy. It's gotten even wavier since!

With my older son, it got oilier. With my younger son, it got less oily!

I never noticed the less oily part but I did feel like I had better hair while pregnant and oh it was so thick that I kept having to thin it out! The falling out part sucks but it grows back...very slowly though.

Oh huh, I thought it was less oily b/c I had been training my hair for like half a year now by not washing as often!

I never had to shave! Seriously I shaved my legs like once a month (also it was winter)!
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@snowjewelz: I had been doing that a little bit too, and had also started using a new kind of dry shampoo...but I've tried so many things over the years and never had any luck. I think it's just baby girl soaking up the oil! (Okay, never mind, that sounds disgusting. You know what I meant! Hahaha.)

My hair was so shiny and healthy when I was pregnant with lo. I miss it! It also grew like crazy!

@mfa_lady: If she is then good! lol. I'm thinking maybe the prenatals we take help with the hair too?

I guess I'm the opposite of you ladies as my hair seems to be falling out! And just as oily or maybe even more? I had really thick hair pre-pregnancy so this has been a bit of an adjustment. My nails are growing super fast though!

@spaniellove: me too!!! I didn't notice my hair being more/less oily, but it definitely got a lot thicker and more voluminous during pregnancy. I used to joke that all my leg hair must have migrated to my head since my hair got thicker on my head but all but disappeared from my legs

my hair seems to be SUPER oily. i have really thick hair and used to wash it 2/3 times a week. now it feels like ihave to wash it at least every other day, which suuucks because it's so thick it takes forever to blow dry blahhh. i'm really worried about it getting thicker... that is the last thing i need.

When I was pregnant with LO my hair was way oilier and healthier. This time around it's not as oily and just started getting thick/shiny in the last trimester.

The hair on my head seems to not be growing at all!
On the other hand, my leg hair is growing so fast I feel like I need to shave twice a day

@Alivoo01: yes, hormones in pp is what I'm blaming my 13 year old like breakouts on! And of course my major pp hair loss!

My hair didn't really change during pregnancy but since I had LO it's lost a lot of volume. It used to be really curly and now it's gone kinda flat. Hoping it sorts itself out eventually!

Mine grows super fast and none seems to fall out. It's so thick!
I have naturally loose curly hair but it got super curly with my first pregnancy and stayed that way.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Mine is the opposite! I lost curl with L, and am losing even more with Sis. I do not like it - I finally figured out what to do with my curls

I got dandruff in the second trimester, it was really bad! Third trimester I've noticed it's not coming out when I brush it at all anymore, it's so thick it's almost unmanageable!

Mine was oily for a few days early on, but for the last couple weeks it has felt soft, thick, and is growing CRAZY FAST. (My fingernails are growing really quickly too). I'm only 7 weeks so we'll see how it goes from here.

I got my curls back while pregnant! I had curly hair my entire life, but during a medical issue a few years ago it turned pretty much stick straight. Once I hit the 4 month mark, all the sudden it starting curling again! Not as much as it did when I was young, but it definitely is curly again. I'm 8 mos now, and dying to know what my hair will be like post partum...I have no idea what products to stock up on!

Mine was more oily- usually I can go 3-4 days before it looks greasy, but while pregnant it looked greasy on day 2. I'm blonde, and my hair got darker with both pregnancies, but then lightened back up afterward, so much that my hair stylist laughed and showed me the line of color difference in my hair. I also used to have stick straight hair, and now after 2 babies, it's wavy in the back.

Mine was super dry and frizzy. Ick.
My nails though... dem nails.

Yes!! My normally pin straight hair has turned wavy/curly! So crazy! Also a lot less oily than normal, and not falling out at the rate it normally does. So weird, but I'll take it
persimmon / 1481 posts
My hair has seems much thicker. I haven't noticed less oiliness, but it's possible. I wear it up all the time and wash it every day, so I might not have noticed.
