Not possible in my house! My husband has installed keyless entry locks so I never have to worry about being outside without keys.

We don't have a slider though, don't know what I would do in that scenario.

Yes!! Just the other week. Luckily DH was home and the kitchen window was unlocked so he could climb up and unlock it. We need to get a key made to leave in the garage since if we are outside the garage is always open (it's not attached).

@Greentea: It's not electric, it's battery powered. There's a key backup, too.

DS actually just locked my DH out when I was out of town this past weekend. He locked the slider on him (just backyard though, not balcony). DH said he almost called my dad to bring over the spare front door key but DS was visible and standing near the back door the whole time so hubs was able to coach him on reopening the lock.

We are now getting a key cut and hiding one outside in case this happens again!

LO has locked me out of a bathroom, but I was able to get a screwdriver and unlock the door.

@looch: I learned my lesson with my keyless entry last week. The battery failed without warning (it is supposed to beep a bunch of times and I would think it would last at least 1-2 more days) and we were locked out after going on a walk. Luckily, nobody was locked inside, but we still had to call a locksmith to open the door. I will proactively replace the battery yearly from now on!!! Much cheaper & stressfree than a house call from a locksmith!
