We've used angelcare in the crib since DS was born and had no alarms...until now (5.5m). He is asleep on his back in the very middle of the crib. It went off 1x per night on 2 days last week and just happened again. All three times its around 330a! I ran in to check on him and it seems like he's in a super deep sleep but I have to say his name to get him to crack an eye open and then I feel his belly rising again. But when I first go to him I can't feel it!
I'm so freaked out about this now. The sensitivity is all the way up and we aren't picking him up when it happens but it doesn't happen again in the same night so it seems like he's in an okay spot for the sensor (ie it is NOT a rolling thing).
Would you tell the ped? I've read that many aren't into this kind of monitor....? Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks
just wanted to make sure I wasn't being crazy and setting myself up for "this is why we don't recommend them" (which maybe they will say but I still feel like I need to bring it up). I don't think these are false alarms, unless his breathing is just so, so, so shallow that it can't detect it. but I find it odd that all 3 times it has happened at 3:30 in the morning. like his deepest sleep time maybe? and I put my hand on his belly and do NOT feel anything until I say his name and he wakes up a bit. AGH. I'll report back what I hear from the ped just in case anyone runs into the same problem...
