We just saw it in the theater on Tuesday and I REALLY liked it! Way better than the 2nd and as good as the first I thought. Plus it is totally a female empowerment movie and I think girls would really like it since the second main character is a girl. Did you like it too?

I thought so too! I bought my daughter a cruz toy
she's 5 and brother is 2 so she was more into it than him really. I think the gender discrimination part was over her head but she liked that the girl won! She said after "I thought only boys could be racers" which made me sad.

@travellingbee: yeah it hit me hard because she's always been into so called boy stuff like Thomas and isn't into princesses and such, but is still getting that message

@travellingbee: we took LO last week and we all loved it! I'm sure we will be watching it on repeat when the DVD comes out!

@bhbee: Actually in some cases the boys movies are probably less empowering because they rarely have strong female characters. She probably gets that message more!

I did think the story was sweet ... but it wasn't very funny, at least to me. About halfway through it started seeming very ... long.

I love the Cars franchise, but somehow, I was expecting to be a little more "touched" by the circle of life that LM was experiencing.
I still think the first movie is the best from a story perspective, but the second is better from a toy perspective.

I took DS1 (2) and DS2 (6 weeks) to a Mommy and Me showing. I'd envisioned waiting until 3 or so to take him to a movie, but he loves cars and with so many babies and young toddlers in the theatre he wasn't constricted and forced to sit and be quiet. He was still really good and really enjoyed the movie and experience.
