Mine definitely has!
Before I got pregnant/had E:
-I would have scoffed at the idea of cloth diapers (as most of my friends and family do--until they actually see them) had I realized people use them. Actually, I probably never would have even known about them or considered them were it not for HB
-I always planned on breastfeeding, but thought I would only feed him on a strict, 2 hour schedule. Yeah, little dude is fed on demand, and he's VERY demanding.
-I assumed I would circumcise any son I had--but we did not have E circumcised. This one's not so much a philosophy, but a decision we made that surprised me a little bit.
-We thought E would be in his own crib, in his own room, almost from the get-go. We have a pack n play with a newborn napper in our bedroom, but had only planned on using it until my mom left when he was 2 weeks old, as she was using the futon in the nursery. She left 3 weeks ago, and E shares our bed with us. This was the big change for us, I NEVER thought I'd be okay sharing a bed with my infant, but I feel better having him close, he can nurse without me getting up, we both get more sleep, and I love having his little body curled into mine.
Has your parenting philosophy changed since you got pregnant/had your LO? If so, how? Were you surprised by the changes/decisions you made?
