Tell me about how it was different from a regular baby shower! Did you have activities? Favors? Just food?

I've been to several! They are usually very informal, center around desserts rather than a full spread, no games. Mostly like a girls' get together with gifts for the mama/baby to be.

I've been to a couple, they're not too different, they tend to be more casual - ie. at a house with little decor, instead of a restaurant or hall. Presents also tend to be different - more clothing and little things instead of big registry gifts.

We are hosting a party for a second baby this fall. It's the same gender very soon after so they don't need much but we wanted to celebrate. We're basically just having a (co-ed) house party and the admittance fee is a case of diapers : )

My best friend just hosted one for me a few weeks ago. We had snack foods. Fruit salad, regular salad, spinach artichoke dip, and buffalo chicken dip. We only had 12 guests and she arranged a diaper freeze. They got a raffle ticket for each frozen dish, bag of diapers or wipes they brought and we had 4 prizes worth about $10 each. No games or anything. Just a time to enjoy the company and celebrate the new LO.
