@mrsjyw: I'm truly sorry you feel that way. I can absolutely assure you that there was no malicious intent of any kind. That Facebook is connected to my blog page, and I can't have a blog page without it. I wasn't comfortable sharing my name with the blog page, so that's why I originally created the Facebook. I would be comfortable sharing my personal information with a close online friend via private contact, but just not to every blog reader.

@looch: I kind of agree with this. @Arden: you present yourself as somewhat of an expert if you will and I think this does negatively affect your credibility a little. Having said that, although I love HB I'm not as invested in the site as a lot of other members, so I'm reasonably meh about the whole thing.

@Arden: no apology needed to me at all. And I understand your reasons for why you have your blog/FB page. But most people I know who have FB pages for their blog, advertise it as so-- not as a completely separate personal profile. Which I'm assuming yours is under your pseudonym. Not a Blog FB page. Anyway, I was just trying to explain that, that's probably where you're getting some of the feedback from the ppl that have been put off by your use of your pseudonym outside of HB.

Well I remember a story of someone on WB who completely misrepresented herself regarding her deceased child and it stirred up a lot of drama/controversy when the truth came out. That's was the example that came to my mind with this thread. People had met this girl IRL too.
In my own real life, I can't think of any crazy stories.

@californiadreams: OMG!!! That's terrible. She lied and said her child passed away?

@CupQuakeWalk: more like she lied about how her child died. As in, the child died from neglect not because of other health complications

@CupQuakeWalk: her child did pass away, but due to her neglect. She was tried and found guilty of manslaughter. She presented it on weddingbee like her daughter had died from an illness.
@californiadreams: that story really freaked me out for a while.

@Smurfette: yes. People were also pissed because she sought sympathy and talked about TTC post wedding.

A guy I dated lied about a lot of things because he thought I wouldn't date him if I knew the truth. Lamer lied about his DOB too! Ugh.
I found out years after we broke up because he called me randomly one day and we chatted for a bit.. -.-

@californiadreams: omg so freaky. can't believe she met with ppl irl too!

@oliviaoblivia: @californiadreams: OMG!!! Manslaughter?!?

@Smurfette: It was really really awful. I read some of the news clippings about the case. She would leave her young toddler alone in the crib for hours (and longer) at a time while she went out dancing. Poor little baby, I wish I hadn't remembered...I feel just as sick now
On WB, she talked about it like her child had been sick and died, and posted about how eager she was to get married and TTC again.

@californiadreams: wow! I was on WB during my wedding planning days, but thankfully I missed this!

@lovehoneybee: so how did she die? That is so awful!

Oh I just remembered a story of someone who lied to me. I knew there was something lol. I met a guy online once. We never let in person. But we talked on the phone for months. Anytime we were supposed to meet he had some big story. He lied about major things and it was pretty obvious early on. I called him out on it but he never admitted he was lying. He also sent me a fake pic of himself. We had had such a connection through our phone convos so i just wanted to meet him. Just to see who he really was! My curiosity drove me up the wall. One time he finally said he was at a bar nearby so I dragged my friend with me. Of course he didn't show, but after we left I realized there had been this guy popping up in every corner that was probably him. I spoke to him after and said I knew it was him and I wished he had the guts to talk to me. He still denied it!! That was pretty much the end after that. I'd still be curious to meet him in person now of I could!

And while we're on the subject. My first name isn't Olivia. It's Maya. Other than that I'm legit.

@oliviaoblivia: makes me sick... i was trying to google that article... and came up with pages of similar news stories. UGH.

@oliviaoblivia: haha I thought of your name discrepancy after reading this thread. I think people would only be upset of had a FB with Olivia though. I see both sides and understand Arden's reasons as well as why people feel duped
pineapple / 12802 posts
@oliviaoblivia: You have explained your name in the "explain your username threads" and never claimed it as your own.

@oliviaoblivia: See, but I knew that because your Facebook & IG reflect that

@.twist.: just couldn't go to sleep thinking you all thought I was an imposter. IG and FB are the real me, just don't want my grandmother finding threads about cervical mucus.

@oliviaoblivia: @californiadreams: @.twist.: that poor baby!! My heart breaks for the baby and the Dad.
@oliviaoblivia: what @.twist.: said. You never said it was your name. I personally love the story of your name.
