DH and I ordered checks from our bank. They were supposed to arrive arround Christmas. They did not so I had the bank put a stop payment on them just after the new year started and they ordered me another set for free. The first set arrived today. Of course!
Have you ever had anything lost on the mail and did it eventually show up?

Like three years in a row we either didn't get the Christmas card from my ILs or they didnt get ours. It was so odd!

@Finfan: yes I've had a package say delivered to my PO box via tracking and it never showed. I'm guessing it was accidentally put in the wrong box and the person didn't turn it in. It was makeup, they must've needed it

I sold someone a baby outfit. Been two months now she never got it and I never got it back. I refunded the money and am out the outfit.
I bought off a resale group one time and never got it either.

I ordered a wall decal from etsy and never got it. I let the shop know and they sent me a new one, but I had to pay the shipping again. The first one never came, but the second one got here pretty quick.
I also ordered a photo calendar for my mom this year. It was about 3 weeks late so I contacted the company. They sent me a new one for free... I got the second one, and then a few weeks later the first one showed up. ( it was about 2 months after it was originally supposed to come,probably got stuck in customs)

packages and letters via USPS go missing constantly--my dad won't get a postcard, my friend won't get a care package, or a store return disappears. I know my mother raised me not to use the word "hate", and I've had many great postmen over the years, but as an institution I fucking hate USPS. my most recent incident was sending my passport in for renewal which has every bit of sensitive information on earth in it, and it was "lost" at the Brooklyn post office. tracking info I paid for was useless, and you're not allowed to use UPS or FedEx or other competent senders for passport dealings. gah.

@LCTBQE: I know! I'm so glad they offer free tracking now though. I have an Etsy shop and about 70% of the time ship priority which has $50 insurance or more. I've had multiple items arrived damaged but have been lucky to not have any packages not arrive to a customer.

I had prescription drugs get lost and I had to fight to get them to send me more.

@jh524: oh my gosh, I wish we never had to bother with them! I guess the tracking is free, but the 3 times I've tried using it, all it does is "track" the package to whichever post office lost it, at which point they tell me to file a claim and I go home totally defeated and having wasted hours.

yes all the time (dang Australia Post) and they hav the worst customer service too. not to mention postage prices and delivery times just went up too.

@LCTBQE: they are seriously the most useless pr!cks I've ever encountered. A few months ago I had a package go *missing* (2 bottles of expensive gin!!) - the new driver ran out of time delivering them and it was still in the back of his van. I went for a drive to my mums house a few streets away, and Lo and Behold, found the driver on the side of the road unloading packages onto the nature strip to give to another driver to deliver. yeah, I went over and grabbed my package quick smart!! I always ring and make complaints or tween aus post because I'm a massive whinger!

@LCTBQE: oh I laughed too (a few days after it happened and I stopped seething!). A few days before Christmas another one of their drivers threw my package over our back gate and onto the deck! It got stuck behind some furniture and luckily hubby spotted it while cleaning up for our party. Apparently, that was the safer place than ringing the doorbell and leaving it on the porch! It was underwear too, and for a few days I was cursing that somebody stole my undies hahah

@FannyMae: this is amazing, hope they're all getting sweet pensions like the USPS I also would *totally* have been muttering about the perverts if I were you! but I have to come clean, Australia Post finally delivered my item yesterday, only a full 5 weeks after I ordered it, so they're off my shit list for now
