I have once! My coworker was a contractor from India and he had me narrow down some of the names he selected because he wanted to make sure it wouldn't be something she would be teased constantly about in school. I loved most of his names but I weeded one out that sounded too similar to a derogatory term for a female's private parts!

My little sister is pregnant now, and if they have a girl their front runner name is one that was in our top 3. They asked if we were planning on using it and I said go for it, I love it!

I do a lot of naming suggestions and people often take me up on my suggestions.
Another common Indian name that I always feel a little weird about saying in English is "Vijaya".

@Mrs. Jacks: Oh my gosh, chatting with an online customer service person once, their name popped up "Vijay" with no "A" at the end and I laughed because I kind of thought it was a joke. I had no idea it was an Indian name. Oops. Now I feel bad.

My BF needed name help. I came up with a name...she last minute changed it but used the one I came up with as his middle name.
