My DH is really keen to stay tg, I am wavering. He said if I find out not to tell him.
Can it be done??

I think I've read about it before on another thread! I couldn't do it!

I have a friend that did this. She knew but her DH didn't. She kept up the secret the entire pregnancy.

Yep - a woman I worked with found out and kept the gender a secret from her husband.
It also happened on Army Wives.
There is no way I could do that - I would totally slip up at some point.

@cmomma17: If I get knocked up, I want a "I do not want to know the sex of my baby" button
My sister and her husband tried this. but then they got into a fight and her way at "getting back" at him was to reveal the gender.

We know a couple who just did this exact thing! He didn't want to.know, she did. They made it work!
It would be way too hard for me not to tell, though! I think part of the fun of is that you find out together!

I offered this to my husband because he wanted to know and I didn't. Ultimately he decided to stay team green with me and he will tell anyone who asks that he is SO glad he waited to find out.

A big part of my reason for finding out is to get the nursery set up and buy clothes, so I don't think this would have worked for us.

Oh, man, that would be tough!
My Grandfather has said that he wants to be surprised, and I'm finding it tough enough getting people to keep quiet about the sex of the baby around him. I can't imagine not letting the info slip accidentally for months when around someone I'm living with!
While it would be tough for me personally, I imagine that there are some couples who could totally make it work, though.

Ummm, I am currently living it, haha.
Done no problem
Only time it would be an issue is buying stuff/prepping nursery, I'm the only one that knows and we did a neutral nursery and have a solid stash of clothes for both genders to get started.

@Mrs tartan: DH wants to wait, I don't. But I would never be able to be the only one who knows. That would drive me crazy!

@Beebug: how is it going for you? Are you glad you know? Do you ever slip up?

DH's cousin didn't want to know, but her husband did. Of course eventually it slipped out.

Won't work for me, seeing that I'd be buying gender specific things lol

@Mrs tartan: going fine! I've known since Feb, and haven't slipped! Only a week or so to go, so almost there!
I have moments where I feel bad I know, but I knew I could find out and not slip, other than to HB, lol.

@Beebug: can I ask what you are expecting? I think we may go down this route, I've got a week left to decide if I can stick to not knowing!

Yep. My friend was TG an EVERYONE else knew. That would kill me. No one told her though!

my parents! this was way back in 84 so it was at best a very educated guess but my dad wanted to know and my mom didnt so they let the doctor tell my dad of course he slipped up in a matter of days - he's awful when it comes to keeping things a surprise

we are doing this too! 25.5 weeks along and so far he still doesn't know. he actually thinks its the opposite gender right now i slipped up a couple times, but i actually slip up both ways (even tho its a boy, sometimes i say she by accident) haha so i think it evens out. right now our close friends and my family knows. if we tell his family (mostly his mom) it'll be game over in about 5 seconds.

I'm not even knocked up yet, but, I think this could end up being me and my sweetie. We would both like to be team green...but I work in ob/gyn and I see a *lot* of ultrasounds. I don't know if I would have the willpower not to watch...but I'm not sure I could keep the secret if I found out just by seeing.

Hmm knowing my husband he would joke too often about the sex and I would get frustrated and demand he spill with the real sex. He isn't going to be invited to my appointments lol.

Yep! My cousin absolutely did not want to know, but her husband did. So, he found out, but he never favor it away to her!

We did it for #2. I was TG and my husband wanted to know, so I told the tech to write down the sex on a piece of paper just for him. I knew we could pull it off though because he's really good at keeping secrets and being ambiguous about things.
We already had a girl and most of our baby gear at that time could be re-used, so I didn't feel like I needed to prep too much if the sex were different. I liked though, that he knew the whole time and his "job" was to order a new carseat cover and some boyish newborn clothes to be delivered to his office if we were having a boy.
We got a lot of comments about how we were crazy for doing it this way, but it worked for us! I'm really glad he didn't slip... We ended up having another girl and it was a total surprise for me at birth!

My friend didn't know and her husband and sister (so I assume some other family members also) did. He teased her about it but the secret lasted the whole pregnancy. Her sister even sent an entire box of gender appropriate hand me downs that my friend managed not to peek at!
