M went home from daycare today after puking up everything in her belly and a 101.5 temperature. Neither my husband nor I can take any time off work right now and my boss suggested I bring her in to work if she is feeling better since we have to wait the 24 hour rule for fevers at daycare.
Have you ever taken your lo to work with you? How much work did you actually get done?

I once went into work during mat leave to help out with this report. I wore LO in my ergo and worked away. She managed to fall asleep!

I had to bring LO to work sometimes during busy season when I worked on the weekends. I can usually get about 2 hours of work time in when he's here.

I took LO to work once for the whole day and I have to say nothing got done. I went to a meeting and my boss was watching her but she was hungry and made in her diaper so I had to excuse myself and tend to her.
It was nice since everyone in my dept took turns taking care of her but in all honesty nothing got done by the whole dept. we all took a 2 hour lunch and played with her.
My other coworker brought her DD to work and she was able to get a little done and passing her off to different coworkers.

@mediagirl: She was maybe 6 months old? I remember it was around the time her separation anxiety started. I know it would definitely not be possible now at 1 year old.

My good friend had her nine month old in here. She was acutally really good. Napped in her stroller and pretty much just hung out on mom's lap.

I took her with me when I needed to meet with my boss before restarting work. She was about 5 weeks old and dozed against my shoulder. Last week DH and I both had to work on our Tuesday off, but he had to be off right before I started at a different store, so I took baby with me and clocked in when he picked her up.

@mediagirl: The issue I have now taking LO to work is he gets into everything and he pulls up on everything. He is also a magnet to wires, so I constantly have to make sure he is not up to anything bad. Can you log in from home? I hope your LO feels better.

I have kind of. I teach college and I have never brought him to a class. When we were nursing daddy would bring him up to nurse when I had all day meetings. I have also brought him up to my office to do some things. For instance, my inbox filled up on a Thursday so I had to run back to clear it out. I gave him my phone and let him watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It took about 15 minutes and we went back home.
