I haven't, we've had so many gorgeous days during the week but it rains when I'm home. Lame. I need to till up my space and plant my seeds. I really want to do a sunflower wall to block the ugly neighbors house!

I have 10 tomatoes and 2 types of lettuce planted. I need to turn over and till the second half of the garden still. I'm already 5.5 months pregnant, so I think probably just finishing with some squash to make it an easy season

No Yesterday, we had frost in the morning. It's mostly all prepped for planting though. We have planted 2 new trees and I moved some stray strawberries, but everything else is still inside waiting to be transplanted.

We typically cannot plant until after the May long weeked. Getting anxious!

Tilled and added compost to the raised beds this weekend and also bought some seedlings. Going to plant this week! But at 7 months pregnant, I'm not sure how into the garden I'll be this year...

Not yet, probably in about a week. It will just be a container with some herbs and maybe hot peppers though - I'm not ambitious enough for anything more!

@SugarplumsMom: Ugh, we got a frost like 5 days after I planted all my tomatoes. I ended up rushing to cover and wrap them while I was getting hailed on. Most made it, but 4 are questionable. So annoying!!
@grizz: Oh, you remind me I need to plant my basil! I have to keep it in pots by my back door because I use it so much... haha. I think I'm going to triple my basil amount, because I ran out of pesto WAY too early this past winter

@swurlygurl: How do you clip yours? I think I do it wrong! You're supposed to cut off quite a bit, right?

Yes, but unfortunately our golden retriever has been actively de-planting it. My husband is NOT happy.

@grizz: I am constantly working on this. You're NOT supposed to cut off the huge leaves at the bottom - those take in the most sun and help the plant grow. You're supposed to cut at 'joints', because then the basil will grow 2 new sprouts instead of continuing just the one.
But, I hate cutting the smaller leaves - more work! Haha

Yep! We have all the onions, peppers, squash, tomatoes and cucumbers in the ground. We haven't put the corn down yet but probably will this weekend!

@swurlygurl: What kills me is it was like summer last week. Now it's cold and rainy Hopefully your other tomatoes pull through, they're tough little plants!
You all got me wanting to plant some basil!

@grizz: My Husband built an herb box for me last year, and I was too pregnant to really take care of it, yours sounds so great!
@swurlygurl: Oooh I didn't know that you need to to do that to basil, mine always dies I told my Mom I was going to plant 10 pots of it this year!

@swurlygurl: Thanks for the basil tips, I swear I can't keep it alive!
I got the raised beds ready last weekend and planned seeds outdoors in containers that I plan to transfer to the raised beds. I thought about just planting them but I am glad I didn't since it then frosted but I was able to bring the containers in. I think in two weeks we will go and get a couple of established plants to round out my seedlings. I have no clue if I am doing anything right but I already had three seeds so I figured why not!

No garden planting here yet! Its been snowing this week still (melting as it hits the ground but still snowing). Usually can't put anything in the ground till about the 3rd week of May.
