What did you think??
I thought it started off slow... and yah, I wish there was more scenes with the entire cast! But overall, the season just got better and better!! I was surprised, because given the constraints it was an almost impossibly tall order!
However, I was disappointed that all the storylines weren't wrapped up... I guess they're gonna do that in the movie. Can't wait!!

We are watching, but not loving it as much. We haven't watched them all--I'm trying to exercise a little restraint! I'm not finding Michael to be as likeable, and Lindsey's face threw me off (I thought they had gotten a different actress at first). I like the back and forth of the story lines though, and still enjoy it.

@Happygal: Yah that's the biggest change... Michael has become as selfish as the rest of the family. It kinda changes the nature of the show... but his selfishness did motivate a lot of the plot this season, so I see why they did it that way.
And yah, it was a shock to see Portia after all this time! She's talked about her struggle with eating disorders in the past, so maybe it's related to her weight loss too?

I promised DH that we would watch it together and his schedule has been sucky lately so we're only five episodes in. It's killing me to not watch it during the day while he's at work. Come on!

It really does get a lot better after the first 4 episodes... and again after the next 4... you guys are in for a treat! IMO at least ha...

@MrBee: Maybe that's it. I've gotten used to Portia's appearance--it was when she first appeared in India that I was shocked. I didn't know a movie was in the works!
Do you have a favorite character? Lucille is probably mine.
@OliviaOblivia: that is good restraint. I look forward to hearing your opinion when you finally get to watch it. It's funny how viewing a show or movie without the person you promised to watch it with can feel like such a betrayal!

Gob really does shine in Season 4. I wish he still got around on his Segway. That cracked me up.
@MrBee: I first saw the actress you plays Lucille in a movie with Clint Eastwood called Play Misty for Me. She's a crazy woman!

We're maybe 5 or 6 episodes in. We were going plow through this weekend but we're headed down to my IL's instead.

We watched the whole season the weekend it came out. I want to rewatch it though because I'm sure I missed a ton of references and details. I do agree that it started off really slowly, but it picked up a lot of good momentum when each character's stories started connecting.

We've watched the first 5 episodes. I'm basically exercising self-control for the first time in my life not watching them all at once hahaha its quite a feat for me!!
I thought the first 3 were near-terrible, but the 4th and 5th were back to the original AR style, tone and feel.
The Tobias episode did not disappoint with the "To Catch a Predator" storyline at their old house.
Portio de Rossi's face is really throwing me for a loop, she was such a beautiful woman! She just looks stretched and Botox'd now, which is a shame.
Also, I keep thinking about how much Steve Holt (nickname: Steve Holt!) had changed; omg! So I keep wondering if its just that that actor let himself go, or if they will come back to that as a storyline. (I also haven't googled spoilers, which again is an amazing feat of self-control for me). He's like the perfect example of how people always say don't get too worked up about all the popular jocks in high school and go for the nice, nerdy guys instead, because the jocks peak in high school and end up fat, bald, unsuccessful later in life. Haha, poor Steve Holt.

I just finished season 4 and remembered this thread!
It did start out so.slow. But it was still hilarious!!
George Michael (Michael Cera) was such a cute kid though so it made me a little sad to see him grown up. Haha and whoa, @HabesBabe: agreed on Steve Holt!
I can't wait for the movie but I heard it's going to be a few years
