Not personally, but one of my nephews was a very late talker. He had to get tubes in his ears when he was around 3 (his parents were a little in denial about it, I think?) and his speech started exploding soon after.

LO turns two this week, has tubes, and has had a lot of hearing testing over the past year and a half. He was in the NICU for an extended period of time and has other risk factors for hearing loss so our state requires hearing screenings every six months. He failed basic screenings so we did an ABR and a sedated ABR. If you can, try to see a pediatric audiologist. It won't hurt to go for some initial testing (all very easy and quick) and hopefully you won't need any additional testing!!
