Any tips besides OTC medication to cure heart burn? It doesn't matter what I eat it comes after every meal. I have never had heartburn before so this is a whole new area for me...thank you preganncy for yet another discovery.

That's sucky! I just kept eating tums and it didn't help..... but I didn't know what else to do.

Nothing I have tried helps, and it seems to come at totally random times. Although I can say that it was better during the second trimester, I don't yet know what the third trimester will bring (I am 26 weeks this week).

@MsLipGloss: yeah I'm almost 22 weeks, and just this week it has started. I can't say it is horrible at this point, more of an annoying than anything. I feel like someone punched me right in between my boobs.

I’ve been “enjoying” this pregnancy symptom since the beginning of the second tri. I’d also never had heartburn before so at first I didn’t know what it was. Ignorance was bliss. I hope that someone out there has a magical cure!

I have suffered from heartburn and acid reflux for a decade now. There are certain foods that might cause it more than others. For me it is tomatoes and fried foods, esp fried carbs like donuts. Greasy foods will cause the acid to "stick" to your esophagus more. Being too full is also a cause, as is stress. Stay upright after eating for at least an hour or two. But, i dont know if any of these will help you ladies since the primary reason is just your stomach being squished up by the baby.

I've been taking daily prilosec since around 19 weeks (suggested by my midwife) and it helped a ton with my reflux/heartburn.
