@locavore_mama: E just woke up from his nap so if you want me to do it it'll be a couple of hours before I can post a thread. I'm totally okay with you taking this month if you have time to get it going now

P.S. I love the idea of a classics themed month!!

@Running Elley: nah, I'm headed out soon so I'll be busy too. We'll leave this up to gain more interest! Then bam! Book selection.

I would love to join in! The idea of weekly threads sounds helpful to me so people who aren't reading as fast can participate in the thread that applies to them and not have spoilers. I would be happy to lead at some point too.

I agree with nothing too depressing, otherwise I am open to anything! I think part of the fun is reading something outside your comfort zone.

If we want to get it going now I can but if everyone is open to later @Running Elley: can lead this month.

  9. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@Cole: I agree. I'm hoping to read some things I wouldn't normally choose and hopefully enjoy it!

@locavore_mama: Doesn't matter to me. I would be fine with waiting, but truthfully I might not be around a computer much later tonight. I say whoever does open up a thread for choosing a book, leave it open for a day or two though.

i LOVE this idea! i just joined a new book club but most of the people don't live all that close to me and at 7 months pregnant i have a feeling i won't be that committed to it! but an online book club, for which i don't have to leave my house?! PERFECT

  15. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@wheres_c: I'm not sure if this is a silly question but aren't most books on a Kindle? I've never had one so I have no idea! @Pirouette: haha these are my exact thoughts!

  16. Cole

    grapefruit / 4649 posts

@locavore_mama: classics is a great idea, the ebooks are usually free too which is a nice plus!

We could do themed months too, so that way all types of books are covered? I know we all have different tastes so if for example we always did classics but someone wasn't a huge fan, then maybe the next month they would be more interested. Does that make sense? Or we could just choose a variety from different genres each time we choose books? I just want to make sure everyone can enjoy it

@Bao: @Running Elley: OK I put together some selections. I went a little more for different genres.

I might be in! I'm curious what book would be chosen and it depends how swamped I would become with school

I think everyone should pick one book they have on their list "to-read" and then we can vote from there?

Love this idea, and all of the books on the other thread look great. I'll be in this month as long as I can get the book from the library!
