Hi Ladies, I had my 9 week ultrasound today at my infertility clinic (IVF pregnancy) and just got released to my OB. Unfortunately I found out from the nurse this evening that I have a hematoma. The clinic wasn't even going to tell me about it until I called to ask why they had me stop the baby aspirin. I briefly spoke to the RE who said that the hematoma wasn't near the placenta and to just take it easy (if I am supposed to take it easy, shouldn't you have told me about it?). Anyway, my googling only reveals worst case scenarios so am looking for reassurance to tide me over until tomorrow when I can talk to my OB. Just when I was starting to relax in this pregnancy....

I don't have much advice other then try to take it easy but I have a friend who at 22week had the same thing but by or in her placenta and I honestly don't know what they did about it but she's now 30weeks and her and the baby are fine

I had a subchorionic hemorrhage at 9 weeks which reabsorbed on its own. My OB never seemed that concerned.

@raintreebee: I had one with H. They are REALLY common. I had bleeding right around 6 wks and they did an early u/s and found it. It was super small, but it caused multiple bleeding/spotting episodes. My OB said it often clears up on it's own but she would approve bedrest if I was willing to, so I did 2 weeks STD and it was gone by 8 weeks. They said it wouldnt have been a big deal if it had stayed, they only get concerned if it grows bigger than the baby or placenta or something. I remember googling and being convinced I'd lose another pregnancy (lost 2 prior very early)...But H was totally healthy:). I worried for nothing. Tons of people have them! I cant think of ANYONE online or IRL where it ended up being a detriment to the pregnancy.

My best friend had one and had lots of bleeding/spotting, she took it easy and it was gone by 10 weeks. Her pregnancy was totally perfect, baby baked until 42 weeks and was born big, beautiful & healthy.

I had a subchorionic hemorrhage, which I think is similar. It showed up around 6 weeks and I had my last official monitoring ultrasound at 16 weeks. I was bleeding, and was just told to take it easy. Mine just resolved itself and now I have a HUGE healthy 16 month old
