Has anyone been to Hilton Head Island? We are going to the Disney Vacation Club resort soon. Are there any good restaurants that we should go to? Give me your recommendations! R will be almost 8 months old when we go.

We are going in a few months too!! We will be at one of the Marriott condos. Little Miss will be 7 months old. We've never been, so I'm hoping you get some good recs here
Do you think you will rent bikes? From what I've researched online, the bike paths are a big attraction, but I'm not sure if she would be big enough for a baby bike seat or bike trailer.

We're going this summer. I've been before, but I was like 8. My in-laws own a beachhouse there, and go every summer. I *believe* they're always going to Chart House, which is on the water. I'll confirm!

I went a few years ago. Definitely visit the Light House and there's a restaurant where you eat a bucket of seafood. Delish!
The outlets were a dud though.

It's a "fancier" place but we had a 1 month old with us and it was fine.Golfing is a HUGE attraction there as well. The beaches are kinda meh. My ILs rented a huge house on one of the islands (Palmetto Dunes). It was beautiful!

We went last year. Our fave restaurant was Red Fish. We also went to early bird dinners because they were close to half price.

@kpc324: we stayed at the Marriott condos in hhi when C was 3 months. You will love it.
Go walk around at coligny (there is an amazing bakery there - cant remember name), make sure to visit the light house at sea pines and visit the salty dog cafe. Take kids to see Greg russell (sp?) perform - kids entertainer who has been around since I went as a kid.

I haven't been since I was little, but a friend of mine just took her two boys to the Disney resort there and they LOVED it. She raved and raved about it. She said she doesn't want to ever do another vacation that's not Disney!

HHI was our family vacation spot and my husband and I have been going back frequently in the past few years. I love it there! Best restaurant on the island is the Seafood Shack-- we always go there for lunch. Best view is skull creek boathouse. Best brunch is palmetto bay sunrise cafe. The rum banana pancakes are out of this world! But there is a crowd!
Savannah is close too if you want a day trip!The lighthouse is in sea pines and you have to pay to get in. Other plantations don't have an entrance fee; palmetto dunes has fireworks every week and that is a free event.

@kpc324: when I was a kid we would get a trailer for my twin siblings and a bike seat for the toddler and all go to the beach from out condo. We always stayed in Sea Pines.
