Holy cow. I do nothing else constructive with my time.
What do you do outside of work and taking care of your family. HB sadly doesn't count. Unless you created HB or contribute to the blog it is NOT a hobby.

I write with penpals and do lots of mail art swaps.
I also have too many animals.

Does cooking count? I love to try new recipes and bake occasionally from scratch. DH and I do a veggie garden in the summer. Oh and I think shopping should count too lol. Guess I need some new hobbies!

@MCD919: gardening is definitely a hobby!
@Dandelion: what is mail art swapping?
watermelon / 14206 posts
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: sometimes I make envelopes or staionery and swap them at places like swap-bot.com theres others things are related to it
If you google mail art images you'll see lots of good examples.

I do absolutely nothing.
DH says I need a hobby... yeah, he's right.
I'd like to learn more about photography and sewing/crafts.

None really. I work a lot during the week and on the weekends, we are either doing stuff around the house, or taking our son out somewhere.

Does reading count? Probably not, it is more like a soft addiction. I am a crusty old hermit who just wants to eat, sleep and read in any spare time I have!
I have been thinking I need to do something that either a) requires me to hang out with other people or b) has a finished product at the end.

I really need to get some of my hobbies back, since having LO I don't do anything. But I really love oil painting, figure skating, and rock climbing.

Does work count as a hobby?! I sometimes knit close to Christmas..

An activity or interest pursued outside one's regular occupation and engaged in primarily for pleasure. -http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Hobby
If that's the case, then HB's a hobby of mine I spend more time on here than reading.
I also like to take pictures, garden, I bird watch in the spring, I follow shows, like to experiment in the kitchen. I want to add crafting and antiquing but I hardly spend any time with that compared to the rest.

It used to be photography but now that is more job than hobby. I guess sewing/crafting/decorating? I also read quite a bit.

I used to play co-ed softball, but took last summer off because I was a new mom and had no extra energy, this summer I went but not as often as I would have liked and then I found out I was pregnant so I stopped playing. Next year I'll be a mom of 2 under 2...I wonder if I'll be able to play...
I also love to bake, play cards with my mom/sisters and watch movies with DH.

Used to be dog agility, but I stopped practicing and competing when I was pregnant, and now my dog has injured her back and isn't allowed to jump/climb any of the contact obstacles any more :(. Debating starting all over again with my terrier, but lessons are expensive. I can't train at home because the other two dogs would get too riled up.

@SugarplumsMom: lol, yes HB is technically a hobby or a time killer, but interacting with a online community is not a work-worthy hobby to share.

My hobby is sewing! I looove sewing and I wish I had more time for it! I would love to try and start making clothing too. But for right now I'm very happy with just making dog beds!

@StrawberryBee: I do now! I was about to write "dog agility" and was skimming the posts and so excited to see yours! Hopefully you can start again soon, those Q's are soooo addicting.
So yes.....hobby was horses, now that I'm a Mom I've downgraded to jumping dogs instead, lol. Running too, ummm DIY projects count I think?

Can I say sleep? Also what @Cherrybee: said. My DH brews beer and wine, so it is fun trying the different kinds he has created.

I'm really an 8-10 year old boy at heart . . . I love video games.

@wonderstruck: I love rock climbing too. I haven't gone since before i got pregnant!
Yoga, biking, cooking, baking.
persimmon / 1331 posts
I used to scrapbook, but now that takes too much time, so I just make cards when I need one. I guess that's kinda a hobby still though!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Cherrybee: uh. Yes.
Reading, rock climbing, knitting.
I've recently done a bit of knitting, although reading and rock climbing have taken a major back seat since L. Sadly. I want to get back on the rock wall so badly.
pomegranate / 3791 posts
@Freckles: I haven't either! I'm trying to convince DH to at least check out an indoor place for it with me, he's never done it at all.
I like the idea of cooking and baking as a hobby, but it doesn't work out so well in practice for me, haha!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Freckles: @wonderstruck: ah! I totally missed that you two love rock climbing! HB rock climbing club pleeeeease! I haven't gone in a few years because my partner moved 2 hours away and I can't find another one. I've been doing it since I was 12!!

Hmm. When I am not working or watching LO (which is harder work than my actual job), I like to play piano, sing, journal, and exercise (when I am not pregnant).
Before baby I did a lot of repurposing furniture, painting, and decorating.
In the summertime, DH and I take our boat out and cruise around, innertube, wakeboard, fish, etc. LO likes the boat, too!

@wonderstruck: @.twist.: I find that good partners really make a difference! I still haven't gone outdoor climbing yet because i want to take lead lessons first. Whoa, 12...you must be super awesome!
kiwi / 689 posts
I knit and cook. I'm hoping to get back into swing dancing once LO has stopped nursing and I have a little more freedom.
pomegranate / 3204 posts
I like baking, crafting, and decorating. I wish I was more interested in reading.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Freckles: I was considerably better when I was about 18. Since I haven't gone in a few years I am incredibly rusty and a total weakling! I also haven't gone real outdoor climbing yet because I also haven't taken lead lessons. I really enjoy indoor climbing and finding the right weather to go outdoor climbing here is hard and I'm also lazy... Hahaha
