I have quite a few hobbies, most taught to me by family members.
The only hobbies I came to in my own right were dancing (modern and social dancing), running, and jewelry making.
I picked them up through a program at school, a bad breakup, and from books and looking at other jewelry.

I love photography--my dad taught me.
I am fairly good at knitting (but haven't taken on a project in a long time!)--my grandmother taught me.
I want to start to crochet again--my other grandma taught me but she passed away before I really figured it out.
I love rock climbing--my best friend in grad school needed a climbing buddy.
I love running--I found this one on my own.

How did you find your hobbies? (And what are they?)
How did you get better at them when your reason for finding them went away?
