@MsLipGloss: get it girl! That's a good streak and I love your attitude!
@cascademom: you rock for getting exercise outside on a cold day!
@smurfette: thanks!
Welcome to all the new hotties! I also made Oreo truffles this weekend and did not indulge. I managed to get more exercise today while baby napped and ate healthy all day. As soon as he's down for the night (fighting it, stinker) I'm going to have my healthy bedtime snack of low fat cottage cheese with a little low sugar jelly! Way yummier than it sounds, I promise!

@cmomma17: I have never had this much weight to lose in my life. Right now, I need to lose about 18 pounds - 23 to be at my wedding weight of 130 (actually, I weighed right around 128, but I start to get a little too bony at that weight with my height . . . I am 5'7". And I know in the grand scheme of things, it's really not a huge amount of weight. But mentally, man, it was (and still is) really hard for me to feel like it is something that I can do! So, I decided to just take it one pound at time . . . kind of like deciding not to try to walk 500 miles, but instead to walk 1 mile 500 times. And to remember, in a similar vein, that a few trips and stumbles along the way may slow me down a bit, but as long as I keep going, I will still get there. One step at a time.

@MsLipGloss: "walk one mile 500 times"
Similarly I'm just aiming to do ten minutes of exercise every day, even if it's just walking back and forth in my apartment. Silly? Maybe, to some. But I'm moving my body and it's a baby step in the right direction!
We are similar body wise too. I'm 5'6" and was 138 at my wedding, which I was unhappy about. 130 and feeling fit/healthy is my goal now. I was 143 ish pre preg and have lost almost all of that, but need to lose a little more, tone up, and just want to feel healthy every day!
You can do it!!

Good Morning Lovelies!
Happy to report I hit the sheets with a clean face last night! I planned to sneak in a workout this morning, but decided that I would rather take the extra half hour for sleep, and that I could put the exercise back in tonight just after LO goes down. Workout or not, I plan to eat clean again this week (with a few goodies on Thanksgiving!) and just keep slowly moving toward my goal.
How is your Monday going?

Good morning everyone!
I've got some good updates to report: I've flossed every day for five days, used mouthwash, and taken my makeup off most days recently. I also went to yoga on Saturday, which was awesome. It was so empowering, and it must have been a good workout, because I am still sore two days later. Yay for that!
Sounds like everyone is making good progress. Go us

Yay for a clean face! I bet your skin is thankful
I've been good about wearing gloves+putting cream on. My weight stayed the same this week, so that was kind of meh, but I packed all kinds of healthy things to eat today. Egg white oatmeal with fruit, minestrone, yogurt, pork tenderloin....:)

Good morning hotties!
Already said NO to cookies once this AM. My office is evil
Had a good breakfast, healthy morning snack, and got 13 minutes of exercise early this AM before DH and LO woke up. So far so good. Plan on sticking to the healthy eating the rest of the day and hopefully getting a little more exercise this evening.
I plan on being "bad" on Thursday and Friday, but I'll still drink lot's of water, have a healthy breakfast and exercise a little too.
ps. I thought about a lot of you guys when I flossed last night lol

@LovelyPlum: Awesome! And yes, go us!
@blackbird: At the very least, it lets all the peeling from the Retin-A shine through! And you can pack food for me anytime . . . that sounds dee-lish-usss!
@cmomma17: Your office IS evil! Great job on squeezing in the activity, too. And with regard to being *bad* on Thursday/Friday . . . sometimes you have to do a little bad to do a lot of good!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@cmomma17: yay for floss! It's the small things, right? Also, I hear you on the drinking water this weekend. That is my number 1 plan: eat, but in moderation, take a walk a day, but mostly, DRINK WATER. That will help a lot, I think.
eggplant / 11408 posts
@MsLipGloss: And I agree-Thanksgiving wouldn't be Thanksgiving without a little indulging, right?
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
my plan of attack is just to pick out a couple of bad things thursday. i KNOW not everything will be worth it. And i don't want to undo a week's worth of hard work in one day (totally possible, by the way). Nor do I want to feel super crappy from stuffing my face with overly rich and sweet food. Just gonna keep my portions small and just have what i REALLY want. Not everything I'm hoping that eating healthy for breakfast and lunch will give me a good foundation for thanksgiving dinner
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@blackbird: I have a short list of must-haves, too: deviled egg, a roll or some stuffing, and a small slice of pie.

Cupcakes in the office today, someone left a york peppermint patty on my desk and my boss wants to treat us to Chipotle for lunch Wednesday.
Do you people not know I'm trying to be a holiday hottie???

Another day of clean eating yesterday, although I did have an extra piece of bread at dinner. I also hopped on the elliptical for 15 minutes yesterday. I felt pretty good on it, but I am so glad I hopped off when I did . . . I am so much more deconditioned than I thought! : / Also had another night of a clean face at bedtime . . . but that had so much more to do with my trying to deal with mah face peeling like a snake in some areas (due to my recent restart of retin-a!) rather than anything else.
@cmomma17: LOL! Seriously, didn't your people get the memo? *exasperatedsigh* After this gauntlet, ordinary, every-day temptation will be no big thang.

I'm down to 192.7 this week!! I'm so close to getting out of the 190's. I'm so surprised that I lost this week. So happy. I've officially lost 25 lbs. on WW and 27 lbs since early June. I weigh 6 lbs less than my pre-pregnancy weight!

I am adding a little to my *hot plate* . . .
I am going to add in the 30 Day Challenge for Squats/Lunges . . . starting tonight (I am not doing the pushup/situp portion).

@MsLipGloss: Thanks! I weighed myself three times to be sure it was right!

These are all so inspiring!
I'd like to:
1. Drink More Water
2. Floss every day
3. Start Yoga Classes
I would want to add start running again to the list - but that seems overly ambitious!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@cascademom, nice job!
@mslipgloss, squat party! I had to bail on lunges yesterday. Ran out of time at the gym, but I'm glad I didn't do them because my right knee is unhappy with me today.
@cmomma, people will sabotage you! I just say no, thank you, as much as I can! You can modify a Chipotle meal to be healthy. No cheese, double meat, no sauces, etc. Still tasty.
I'm coming down with something. Ugh. But I'm going to do abs and shoulders and I have the next two days to rest

@MsLipGloss: to top it all off, DH bought hershey bars after dinner! I was at my calorie max for the day, so I put it in the fridge. I'm treating myself to one half today, and one half tomorrow!
Good luck with that challenge! I'm on day 5 of a 200 squat challenge I found on pinterest. My legs are killing me!!
@cascademom: you go girl! that's AWESOME! keep up the hard work hottie!
@alleyflowers: welcome and good luck! I need to make more time for yoga, I really enjoy it!
@blackbird: oh no! I hope you feel better! Chipotle isn't the worst thing I could eat, it's just such a calorie bomb because of the portion sizes. I'm a vegetarian so I usually just get brown rice, black beans, cheese and salsa. I'll skip the chips and lemonade tomorrow I think. I'm drooling just thinking about it ....
Was strong and resisted temptations all day yesterday! Got up and got 20 minutes of exercise in today and packed all my healthy food. Gotta say I'm looking forward to NON healthy food on Thursday though ....

@cmomma17: @blackbird: Thanks! I'm so excited that I'm down this much this week. It means I still have to be careful on Thanksgiving, but can make it my treat of the week. Honestly, not drinking alcohol has kept the pounds off. I still drink coke zero and Diet Mountain Dew. If I could curb those plus sweets, I'll lose even more, but I'm learning that indulging in them is okay too.
honeydew / 7811 posts
@cascademom: you are doing awesome! It's very inspiring. Treats are okay, life would suck without them!
I gave up soda in 2008, because I couldn't drink it in moderation.

@cmomma17: dodging temptation right and left . . . nicely done!
@alleyflowers: welcome - we are happy to have you!
@TurtleDoves: Ha! Happy to have a partner in *pain* (and gain!). . . Maybe the soreness will take my mind off the peeling/redness from the retin-a. *lesigh*

@MsLipGloss: if I walked in in my husband in mid-air like that guy with his tush to the sky? I'd go running. But if my cat did it, she'd be my superstar hero poor dh

@cascademom: congratulations!! Seriously, that's awesome.

@MsLipGloss: @TurtleDoves: I don't know, I kinda like the look of the curves...if he could pull that off, I'd be pretty turned on
PS I just realized what "Inorite" is. I was so, so, confused what in-or-it had to do with anything. Clearly, my brain is already on vacation
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
Sooo . . . I ate clean yesterday, until dinner that is. When DH got home, he asked if we could have a pasta dish instead of our chicken/ veggie meal (he had a rough day and maybe just needed some comfort food?). So, I had a very reasonable portion of pasta. And I am okay with it (although I wasn't for a few minutes when he first asked)! I need to learn to be flexible and learn what it means to be 80-90% clean 80-90% of the time. I have a habit of being very black/white with my food thinking . . . !
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Well 10% of cheating during the week is 2 meals, so you're totally safe! We had spaghetti and meatballs last night, but I had spaghetti squash. But we are going out tonight and I'm thinking a korean burrito or a korean burger. Spicy. Very spicy.
And, yes, I am sick today. Boo. But it's all in my nose so at least I don't feel ultra shitty, too. Just a bit congested. i think a steamy bath and some tea are in order later
I'm also relatively black and white about food when i get down to it, but I think that's because I have already trimmed so many corners, I run out of options besides "be more strict".
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@blackbird: Yessss . . . the only area of my life that has any significant flexibility is what I eat . . . I can't necessarily carve out another hour or two to workout, and even if I did, at some point, I will still need to be strict with my food because there is only so much that exercise can accomplish. Even if I workout enough to create a deficit (to lose weight), without clean eating, my results won't show up on my body like they otherwise would. Ahhh, well. Even though I might not like it, it doesn't change the fact that it is what it is, and that the sooner I just embrace it and work with it the much easier (mentally) it is going to be!
And yanno, this week may also be a good week for me to evaluate how realistic my goals are . . . if I am trying to lose 3 pounds this week, maybe that wasn't quite a realistic goal. Maybe a more realistic goal was/is to lose and pound, and everything over that is just a bonus.

Am I too late to join?
I want to:
-Lose weight,(eat less crap & walk at least 3x week)
-Keep my house clean
-Stop biting my nails
-Smile more
honeydew / 7811 posts
@blackbird: awww man, I hope you feel better soon!
@mslipgloss: 3 lbs of weight a week is a lot of loss! I think that would be hard to maintain long term. You are doing fabulous and even your "cheat" meals aren't that bad! Keep your spirits up and keep moving forward!
@mrstiz: welcome! Some smiles for you:
As for me, DH said "You look skinny!" this morning and I'm wearing a non maternity top to work, whoop whoop! I'm going to indulge this weekend, but I also will have 4 days off from work so I can easily exercise 4 days in a row during naps! So I'm calling that a WIN!
