Happy Thanksgiving All! Hope you all have a lovely day and enjoy your family and friends . . . and the food too! Non-work days are always awesome, but they are even more awesome now that LO is here.
Not a bad day yesterday . . . I ate clean, but missed a meal (definitely not on purpose!), so I don't feel like it was a rock solid day. But still a good day nonetheless. Today my plan is to enjoy myself, but to try to not go overboard.

@MsLipGloss: I went overboard, lol. I thought I had willpower, but I was wrong! Started Wednesday night when I was putting treat trays together for my husband's work. Ugh. I sampled everything (fudge, cookies, etc.)
Pigged out today, but plan on exercising a little later after DH heads in to work. Three days in a row off work should let me exercise even more, and eat healthy again after I clear out some of these leftovers.
I hope all the holiday hotties are having a wonderful holiday!

I was saved by LO at Thanksgiving lunch! I made a very reasonable plate -turkey breast and veggies. I was losing my willpower against all the good stuff, when LO got hungry an hour early! By the time he finished nursing and I put him down for a nap, all that stuff was put away. Thank you, baby boy! I'm glad his lunchtime was my intervention

@grizz: Hopefully you had a little treat . . . but glad that you weren't blown off course!
@cmomma17: The most important thing is that you enjoyed it! Sometimes the mental vaycay is worth the calories.
I did pretty good with mah food, although I did have a slice of pumpkin pie with *2* dollops of cool whip on it.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
I was just going to see how everyone did!
None of the food at Thanksgiving was really good enough for me to want to over eat, so I didn't I had a piece of pumpkin pie, though! Which was better than the other pie and cupcake options! And I was sick, so that probably kept my appetite dulled.
So I don't feel gross, which I'm excited about. And I'm headed to the gym today!

I had a tummy ache all night from over indulging, yuck! I did walk some Thursday and already exercised 40 minutes today!
I am going to enjoy my leftovers today. I live for cranberry sauce and only eat it twice a year.

I didn't indulge too bad partly because I had to chase LO when he was done with dinner. I had a small piece of pumpkin pie too. We had baked potatoes and broccoli with dinner. I went over on points, but not too bad.

Alllllrighty . . . . So, I did really well Thursday and Friday. Saturday was a totally off-plan day (we had good friends over), and yesterday, DH wanted another *break* day. Not exactly what I had hoped for, BUT, I enjoyed what I ate, and am back on track this morning! No Guilt and I'm moving on! For someone who used to toe the line with rigidity/ED, this is such progress for me! I also avoided what could have been a triggering event for me . . . weighing myself repeatedly. I have scheduled a weigh-in for Wednesday, and I am sticking to it!
How are all of you this fine Monday?

@MsLipGloss: I did great with exercising but did not eat well. Luckily, I'm back at work and brought healthy food, so I won't be tempted to eat crap.

@littlek: Awesome job with the exercise!
Sometimes work is a really great place because my on-hand options are limited to what I bring! My plan is to add in exercise this week, LO permitting (she woke up this morning at 4:30 . . . so it was either grab a quick shower then or scramble later).
And I have a (work) holiday party this week, too, so I am planning to be off-plan Thursday evening.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@mrsipgloss, I find that I do better with scheduled weigh-ins, too. I've been doing Fridays. I don't want to mess up because I want to see progress. And you can't really see progress if you weigh in every other day.
I have a work holiday party Thursday, too, and a happy hour Friday, so I'm parceling out my treats.
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
On second thought . . . should probably just keep that to mahselfs.

I had an okay day yesterday . . . LO had her 15 month appointment, so there were lots of shots and of course I was there alone. She really was a rock star though . . . so much tougher than her mama!
ETA: Made a separate thread about the edited portion of this post.

I gained less than a half of a pound from this weekend. This week has to be hardcore. I'm having a couple of stressful work days, so I can't comfort eat to deal with it. Must look awesome for Christmas.

I'm gaining an insane amount of weight. Like to the point, I almost wander if I need to get a physical and see if my thyroid is off or something. I'm certainly not eating perfect or exercising as much as I should, but I don't think I'm eating so much that I should be gaining mass amounts of weight. I'm really frustrated. Anywho, my plan for this week is to keep a food journal to see if I'm really eating that much more than I realize.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@mrs. blue, i'd definitely keep a food journal and measure/weigh what you are eating and if the numbers don't drop, it's in your interest to see someone about it! I know a friend of mine was struggling with some weight gain and she eats insanely clean and trains super hard and it turns out she had a hormonal imbalance.
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@blackbird: I'm certainly not perfect on my eating, but I'm talking like over 15lbs in 6 weeks---more than I've ever gained in 6 months, much less 6 weeks. I'll do the food journal and if things keep going like this, I'll see a doctor. Both my mom & grandma have hypothyroidism, so I know that is something to keep on my radar.

After all my work to maintain in the past week, I gained. Today is my weigh in day for WW, so its a new week! DH is making sure I have dedicated workout time on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday so I'm feeling optimistic.

Alright I've worked out 2 days in a row now! I'm doing the boot camp biggest loser DVD's. It's kicking my butt, but I feel GREAT! I'm also doing this mini month challenge, I'm doing a different one every month. This month is the "Plank Challenge" I started it yesterday holding plank position for 20 seconds. It will basically work up to 5 minutes in plank position at the end of the month.....if I make it!!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@mrs,. blue, dude that's crazy. That's an EXTRA 9000 calories/week. That does NOT seem right to me, unless you are living off bacon fat and ice cream.
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@blackbird: I wish I were living off of bacon and ice cream, at least then I would have enjoyed getting the extra 15 lbs! When I say I'm not perfect in my eating, I mean like I have something sweet a couple times a week and I still eat too many carbs, but not like I'm rolling in a vat of syrup and marshmallows...
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
That sounds kind of glorious, though, rolling around in syrup and marshmallows
9000 calories is the equivalent of 3 PANS of brownies, though, just for perspective!
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@blackbird: Syrup and marshmallow rolling for everyone! Definitely not eating 3 pans of brownies; I downloaded an app to track my food this week, but I also went ahead and called to set up a physical. Maybe my body is just "storing fat for winter" but I think I should get a physical since I haven't had one in a long time anyway. If everything is normal, I'll just blame being in my 30s and gear up to work a little harder at it.

@mrs.blue: @blackbird:
I came to post on this thread and got distracted by rolling in syrup and marshmallows and 3 pans of brownies.
I forgot what I was going to say

@Mrs. Blue: Get that thyroid checked especially with your family history!!!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
hahaha.
@mrs. blue, I hope you get some answers! At the very least, she'll let you know if there's something more (before it gets out of control) or if you're just getting older. Womp womp. I know DH's metabolism came to a screaming halt about a year ago. I've been gently nudging him that he can't keep eating the way he does.
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@Mrs. Blue: I'm older than all you lovelies, so shush! ;P But seriously, getting your thyroid checked sounds like a good place to start. It would take some seeeerious effort to gain that amount of weight that quickly!
@MrsBrewer: That's awesome! And planks . . . .ah yes planks. The do a body good!

Okay hotties, I'm back.
I fell off the wagon big time on Thanksgiving, black friday, saturday, sunday, etc. You see where I'm going with this .... just a ton of over eating. I'm a stress/emotional eater and it's such a struggle! Eating for the sake of eating too, not eating for enjoyment. I also stopped exercising after a great streak.
I'm trying not to beat myself up. A co worker complimented me yesterday (said I was looking skinny and looked like I never had a baby! woot woot!) and it got me thinking. I don't look good today because of what I ate/did yesterday, I look good because of what I did a week or two weeks ago! So I need to get back on track before my bad decisions start catching up to me!
Hope you're all doing well, washing faces, flossing, exercising, and eating healthy!

Here's my check-in..
- I have been washing my face every day! My zit from my last bout of non-face washing is still lingering to remind me...
- I have been eating less candy, since I finished my stash of "good" Halloween candy at my desk, haha! And I gave my "bad" Halloween candy to the receptionist and her communal candy bowl!
- I have been having a green smoothie almost every day. I ran out and didn't have one today and am craving one!
Wishing every lots of success on their goals!

This morning I was in a rush, but I took the time to make myself an almond milk smoothie! Yesterday I went for a 20 minute run. Going to try to do a Zumba DVD when DS goes to bed.

@cmomma17: This is the recipe I use! Helps to have a Vitamix, but I think you can do it with any really strong blender... https://www.vitamix.com/Find-Recipes/G/L/Glowing-Green-Smoothie

Is it too late for me to join in?
I've been eating way too many carbs and sweets.
I want to:
Eat more fresh fruit and veggies and clean up my diet
Do my yoga dvd 2x a week after the baby goes to sleep
Make myself put on lotion every night after I shower.
Drink more water!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Wow that's....leafy, haha. They make it look pretty
I learned that I can download tv shows to my Kindle and watch them at the gym. Definitely made cardio more enjoyable last night!
Tonight's a rest night and I'm doing sesame noodle stir fry and fish for dinner. Healthified, naturally
@coacheswife, lotion makes such a difference in the winter!

I haven't posted in awhile. I gained a little with Thanksgiving. I'm trying to keep up my plan to eat well ahead of Christmas. My mom reminded me that every pound I lose will bug my MIL, so that's motivation enough for me. Tonight, we're having leftover pot roast for dinner. Tomorrow, it's another busy day at work, but I'm going to be better about what I eat despite the stress.
honeydew / 7488 posts
@blackbird: it tastes wayyyy better than it sounds, believe me. I hate salad but this helps me get my "roughage" in.

I lost 1.1 lbs this week. I'm happy since I've been crazy for chocolate with it being stressful last week with work, having a sick baby who was out of daycare for 2 days with a bad case of the sniffles, and preparing for the Christmas trip. So, I'm down to 192! Getting close to getting out of the 190's.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Nice job!!! It's so hard when you're sick!! You'll be sub-190's soon!
