The photographer we usually use is having a mini session. We decided to sign up and I'm wondering if you bees usually tip after doing a mini session.
The photographer is the owner and back in the day I was told we do not tip the owners since they keep 100% of the profits. Wondering if this is still correct.

I've never tipped a photographer.
Also as a business owner I can tell you we don't keep 100% of our profits lol, but you're right you are not supposed to tip business owners.

@pui: I guess as a general statement this profits goes to you and you do what you need to do with the money (Supplies, fees, advertisement). If if was an employee of the photographer they only get a percentage of it, so I would tip the employee.

We did tip the photographer at a mini session we did last spring, but it was because she went above and beyond what was expected. We were supposed to have 5-10 minutes, and she easily spent half an hour because there wasn't anyone waiting and the kids were crying most of the shoot. We have used this photographer several times, but that was the only time we tipped.

I didn't tip ours because like you said, she's the owner and all the $$ goes to her.
