LO is 11 weeks old. DH's best friends daughter who is one year old has has the flu, and started having seizures last night and was admitted to the hospital. DH said he was going to go up to the hospital to visit but it freaks me out because a. It's a hospital with tons of germs. B. they've all been exposed to the flu. I know you can't protect babies from everything, but if I can avoid it...
I told DH not to go up there. I hope he listens!
Am I being too overprotective?

No I wouldn't be comfortable with my husband exposing himself to flu and then coming home to our newborn.

I would be ok with DH going by himself as long as he showers and changes clothes right away. Anyone visitng this child should be wearing a mask and using hand gel anyways (it is precautions we use for all patients we suspect have the flu).

I would only be OK with it if he wore a mask and came home, sanitized his hands, and showered immediately. And if we'd all had flu shots.
My husband and his best friend are really close...I'd have a hard time putting my foot down, honestly.

Yeah, I am having a hard time putting my foot down too because they are super close. But...at the same time, if LO got the flu-I wouldn't be very happy (obviously).

I would be worried too but if he takes precautions he should be fine and not bring the flu home to you. Can he maybe send a gift basket or somthing?
