I'm super picky about stuff at home and have a whole bunch of rules. For example:
No shoes inside you take them off at the door
No street clothes on the bed
Living room cushions aren't allowed in the bedroom
Have to wash milk jugs before they go in the fridge
DH is kind enough to put up with me.
What are some of your house rules?

@mrbee: there's sometimes schmutz on them. It's weird but I need my milk to be clean.

Not really any hard rules....too many chefs in the kitchen so to speak...

-teeth brushed and face washed before you crawl into bed (DH always tries to sneak in before doing either)
-cupboards and drawers kept closed
-no shoes/especially stinky feet on the furniture or in bed
-all dirty clothes in the hamper, all shoes in the shoe rack in the hall
-dishes washed before the night is over, unless a pot is soaking (i'll think about it all night, otherwise)

Always rinse your dishes and pick up after yourself. Two my DH can't seem to get after living with me after 5 years. we just got a white rug so I'm about to add no shoes in the living room/ on the rug to the list.

As for what you're actually talking about, we don't really have any. Considering the state of my house, we probably should! lol

We don't have many. My big one is keep the dining room/kitchen table clear-I like to be able to eat on it!

We need house rules! We are pretty good about not walking around the house with shoes on and not eating in the bedroom.

No food in bed. All toilet lids must be closed. Closet doors must be closed before bed. All bottles in the shower must be closed, no open caps.
I have really weird ones after looking at everyone else's list!

- Change out of outdoor clothes into "house clothes" the minute we get home.
- No street clothes OR house clothes on/in the bed, must be in PJs.
- Can't go to bed w/o showering. Constant hand-washing.
- Dog can't go on furniture
- Wipe dog's paws with baby wipes after every walk

A lot of these we just do (like no open caps, @carrielouwho: that would annoy me for sure! - and dishes before bed, cupboards closed, clothes in the hamper. I never thought of them as house rules though.
But one we just started is hard to get used to - no shoes inside. LO has started to crawl so we need our floor to be clean. But we're so used to being able to walk around with shoes it's tough!

I don't have many, but two I would add are turn the light off once you leave a room and put things back where you found them. Since the dsd moved in, this has been a bigger issue than normal.

You and I would get along great! I'm exactly the same way. I'm pretty anal about a lot of things... It's kind of annoying, actually. I'm not OCD either but just particular with certain things. I really dislike shoes in the house, period. Maybe b/c my kids like to mop the floor with their bodies. 
Also, the thought of what's under our shoes... yikes!

-Dishes in dishwasher at end of the night,
-drawers and cupboards closed (Husband is so bad about this), -toilet seats and lids down,
-all doors locked at all times,
-blinds closed after sundown,
-no shoes on the couch or dressers-Husband thinks this is a good spot for them much to my dismay,
-all throws folded on couch before bed,
-no wire hangers,
-shower curtains closed
-dirty clothes in hamper, shoes in closet
Once we get new carpet there will be a no shoes rule.
Wow...I sound totally neurotic. We'll see how those last once the wee ones come along.

Hmm we don't really have any rules. I just kind of boss my husband around and he never remembers them anyways so I keep bossing.
-lock the door when you come inside the house.
-if your are nasty enough to lougie in the shower, rinse it off the freaking wall.
-if we're out of something (toilet paper) write it on the shopping list instead of ending up in the bathroom and yelling for toilet paper...
-if the cats food or water is empty and you walk past, fill it.
-no shoes inside.
I think that's all.

~ No shoes past the front door (this one is hard for my husband)
~ All dishes done before bed, I will wake up in the middle of night thinking about and not be able to go back to sleep until they're done.
~ No wire hangers
~ All store bought fruit and vegetables must be washed before being put away.
~ No bags, IE grocery bags, purses, lunch boxes, backpacks on the table or counter.
~ Closet doors shut
~ Bathroom doors shut
~ All clothes in the hampers.
~ House must be picked up before bed, for my sanity!
~ Beds made every morning
I'm pretty OCD about things, my husband is the complete opposite.

None, we apparently live in chaos compared to some I'm ok with that! We pick up as we go along, but if it doesn't happen right then, it will eventually.
I would love no shoes in the house, but we don't have a good setup for that. I want a mudroom in our next house!

@StbHisMrs: If you wash your fruit before you are ready to eat... doesn't it go bad quicker?
Our rules are:
-no shoes in the house
-wash hands as soon as we come inside
-change into "home clothes" as soon as we come inside
-no "outdoor clothes" on the bed, ever!
-if we've worn flip flops during the day, wash your feet/shower before bed

don't leave dishes in the sink, put them in the dishwasher
slam the front door (it sticks and doesn't close all the way, drives me nuts)

@sarac: Same here, we have a clean and tidy home but no specific "rules". I prefer a lot of things like shoes off at the door, but it doesn't always happen.

Nothing is spoken outloud for them, anyways. Most of them are geared towards DS, like taking your shoes off at the door and not keeping the door open (can't let an animal out!)
Most of our repeated rules are about attitude and being a nice person, like, "Just because another kid is doing something naughty, doesn't mean you have to!" and things like that, lol
