Just out of curiosity, generally, what temp do you set your thermostat to during the day during the winter? If it's different, what temp at night?
Does it change during the spring/summer? Finally, if you're comfortable sharing, around how much does your heating bill come out to per month?
We set our thermostat to 70 degrees day and night and was wondering if this was considered high or low. We just moved so not sure what our heating bill will be! *fingers crossed*

Ours is set at 68/69. We live in California though, so it doesn't get super cold here. I have no idea what our bill is bc that one is in DH's name.

We live in the PNW and keep our house at 72. I like it warm. 
I think about 70 is average!

We keep our home around 70-71. Right now it's so cold outside so I enjoy a warmer temp indoors.

When I lived alone I kept my house around low-mid 70. Love to be warm! That warmth cost me upwards of $400 a month for gas heat. The hubs starts sweating if it's 70 so now I keep it mid-high 60. I haven't really checked recently but it should be lower. If I remember I'll come back with a number later.

It totally depends on where you live and the outside temp. When I lived in the northeast and it was very cold out, I kept heat at 68-70. Now I live in Texas so it doesn't take as much energy to warm the house up and I like it warm so we keep it at 73/74 when we're home.

We like it cooler in our house and during the day it is typically set to 65/66 and at night it is at 61 (we are both HOT sleepers and even though it's set at 61 we both sweat. I sleep with only the sheet but he sleeps with both the sheet and comforter...needless to say, clomid hot flashes have not been my friend). We don't have kids and know it will have to change once we do but that's what we have done since we got married.
ETA: not sure about the bill. DH handles that one!

We keep it between 70-72. I like to be warm. Our highest heating bill has been $200.

We have three zones in our house. The bedroom level is set at 69 because we have an infant right now. The other zones are set at 68. Our bill last month was $134.
I live in the Northeast and it gets quite cold here!
A lot of factors will affect your heating cost. Size of home, efficiency of heating system, how well insulated your home is, etc.

70 upstairs and 71 or 72 downstairs. We live in ice cold Maine in a big drafty old house. Our oil bill is astronomical.

We keep it at around 70 and we live in the Northeast. We lived in 500 square feet last winter and now we're in 900 so I'm kind dreading the bill.

Pac NW born and raised, and we have always kept it no warmer than 68! I'm actually surprised so many keep it 70 and up. I don't know what our bill is, but I do know it's enough of a difference to keep it below 70.

we keep it at 70 when we are in the house--after our last few gas bills, we lower it to about 66-67 when we are out of the house.

We set ours to 70 during the day, or a little higher, but only because it takes a lot to heat up our downstairs. We're in a stacked townhouse with bad windows and a garage under our floor, so it gets cold. The heat all goes upstairs, so we turn it off in the evening so it's not too hot up there. At night we keep it around 64-65.

Its set at 72 in the summer if it's hot and humid. Otherwise we normally have the windows open!

Wow I'm also pretty shocked at how warm most of you are keeping it! We have a very very old home (poor insulation) so with our thermostat set somewhere in the low 60's (like 62-63!), we still have a bill around $400/month all winter 
Baby #1 comes in Feb, so we're enjoying the "low" bills until he gets here!

We have a dual zone. We keep the majority of the house at 67 and the bedroom anywhere from 67-69. I would melt at 70+. That being said, I WISH I had some of your elec bills. We have new HE heating systems, and our bill has never been below $250. In the summer, the bill can get as high as $450. We're in the northeast.

57 at night and when we're at work. 64 when we're home and awake. In the summer we turn on A/C when it's 95 or above outside. We also live in an old house in a cold climate and prefer a bill below $200/ mo.

We don't have central heating/air but I think 70 is high for winter and low for summer. My mom keeps it at 68 in winter and 74 or 76 in summer.

We have multiple zones in our house. We keep the unused bedrooms/bathrooms upstairs at 60. We keep our bedroom at 65 during the day and 68-70 at night. We keep the downstairs around 65 during the day and 65-68 when we are home. Our heating bills are between $500-600/month in the winter.

68-70, we live in the northeast. We do budget billing, so they average the year and we pay a rough amount monthly - about 110/Summer and 130/winter (per month for gas)
Eta: we live in a really old house (1800s) and have 2 zone heating. I only use the heat upstairs during the day during nap time, and at night the heat downstairs is turned down to 67.

We live in the midwest, and I hate high heating bills in winter! We keep ours at 65 generally all day and night. It's a bit chilly, but that's what layering is for!

We keep ours at 71 degrees during the day and 69 degrees at night, and we live in GA. Our bill electric & gas runs us anywhere from $220-$300 right now.

We live in Texas. Our house is in direct sunlight the majority of the time so even if it's 40 ish degrees outside, I keep it around 65 during the day because the sun keeps it warm in here. At night I keep it around 68/70. In the summer we keep it between 72-75 depending on the time of day and of course, sunshine level. Our electricity bill is usually no higher than 160.

67 at night or when we aren't home, 68/69 when we are home (depending on how cold it is) we like it colder, we are a blanket cuddle family. I always have to have a blanket it on me when I'm on the couch. In the summer we argue, DH would like it at 78 and I would prefer 75/76.
We pay around $100-130 depending on season.

Usually 62-65 day and night. We keep a fire burning most days during cold months though and that gets the main living areas close to 70.

We live in a drafty beach bungalow and have electric heaters that suck and take a lot of power and money so we aren't using them this year. It's cold but we layer. It has been 60-67 degrees in DD's room when I get her up in the morning. We all sleep well!

I hate coming indoors and having to strip down (or vice versa), so we let the thermostat vary depending on the season and dress appropriately.
In winter we keep it pretty cool (anywhere in the 50s or 60s depending on how we feel) and wear cozy sweaters and slippers. Sometimes I will keep the thermostat super low for the house but use an electric radiator space heater in the room we are using. I've saved tons of money this way.
In the summer we keep it pretty warm (only use AC if it is mid-80s and up) and dress lightly.
