Did you have a housewarming party when you moved into your house? Was it a big bash or a low key event?

We had a low key event with just family and close friends, those that helped up move!

We are still renting, but when we buy we will! Just low key though

Nope too spread out to expect visitors!

We had about 25 people for casual apps and booze. It was great fun and got pretty rowdy (this was obviously pre baby)

We didn't. We got married recently and had an engagement party and shower, and I had my baby shower, so we felt like it would be too much for people to have to come and give a gift.
Plus we moved when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant. By the time the house was done lo was a newborn and we were tired! We had her first birthday at home so people saw it then if they didn't come before, but most came by to meet lo when she was born.

I had a small get together with close friends. It was fun and informal.

We sent out an email with a few details about the open house. People stopped by and said hello. We served some appetizers and drinks.

Nope. We moved when I was in the middle of my first trimester and miserable. We had family over for dinner a few times but the first big gathering was my baby shower 7 months after we moved in then we just hosted Christmas for my mom's side and my dad's side so that was about 50 people.

We did when we started renting our last place (it was a house). But when we moved into the house we own now, I avoided it because I felt so weird saying "come to our housewarming party" because I feel like people feel obligated to bring gifts. So we just waited and did a Halloween-type party a couple of months ago just so people could come see the place.

We kept meaning to, but we're not even unpacked yet, so hard to do a house-warming!
