Do you have any ideas for housewarming gifts? Hopefully I can think of something before the party starts this afternoon!

Our neighbor bought us a crape myrtle tree for our housewarming gift. We loved it and thought it was very thoughtful. (She also planted it and waters it regularly...we kind of hit the neighbor jackpot!)
Housewarming gifts can be tricky because you don't want to give the 900th candle in a scent they don't like or give them decor they feel obligated to display. Maybe some nice kitchen towels if you know their decor style with a bottle of wine? Or a house plant in a nice pot?

I got a fancy bottle of olive oil and a fancy bottle of balsamic vinegar for a housewarming. Thought it was kinda cool.

A bouquet of kitchen utensils? A card with a Target/BBB gift card? Have you looked on pinterest? I'm sure it has good dieas.

If they are drinkers, a nice bottle of wine is always good...

Gift certificate to Home Depot, Lowes, Home Goods, etc. Are you on pinterest? They have lots of cute ideas for gift baskets on there.

I ended up getting them a gift card to Target! Their home was beautiful!

I like gift cards. It's guilt free spending, because you can't apply it to bills like cash.

I always go for gift cards - Target or Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Those were my favorite gifts when hubs and I bought our house.

cash or alcohol! When you first buy a place or move into a new rental you're always strapped for cash and want to upgrade things. But if you don't feel comfortable giving cash or a gift card alcohol is great too since it's a nice treat for someone watching spending closely.

We've done a laundry basket filled with cleaning supplies, a bottle of wine, some of their favorite snacks, and a card with some cash to help them with one of their major first purchases like a new couch, fridge, or a grill (we always suggest a grill because we doesn't love grilling!).
