I'd say DH 65%, me 35%.

98% me, 2% D. He works second shift, though, and is pretty much never home before 9pm. He makes breakfast on the weekends like twice a month, though. I love to cook, so I don't mind, and he usually takes care of the dishes.
cherry / 197 posts
Me 95%, DH 5%. He grills, but otherwise really doesn't cook. He makes up for it by doing the dishes every night.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
Me: 95%
Him: Breakfast on weekends. I'm estimating 5% for that.
apricot / 309 posts
95% me, 5% DH. But he does get the table set with the kids and clean up. I do all the grocery shopping though...
pomelo / 5129 posts
I'd say 60/40, but it goes back and forth who does the most.
He works odd hours so often isn't home for meals. But when I was in school, he'd often cook for me during the day when I had class so there was something ready when I got home.
pomegranate / 3113 posts
99.9% me. DH will occasionally make toast or boil an egg. I'd be lying if I said this doesn't frustrate me to no end.
grapefruit / 4187 posts
It's 50/50 for us. DH has now memorized all of the recipes we make and can even shop for them without my assistance. We use the crock pot so often that he is regularly loading it as long as i remember to take the meat out of the freezer the night before.
pear / 1580 posts
Before our LO, 90% me, 10% him. This was fine with me because he left earlier than me and came back home way later than me.
After our baby was born, we decided on 0% me, 100% him, at least for the first month or two. But in reality, it's been more like 30 me/70 him.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Right now - DH 99% of the time. He's not working so he has time to plan and cook.
Previously, I cooked 99% of the time. It's a nice change in pace.
grapefruit / 4923 posts
99.9% me. DH pours cereal, has microwaved a few things, but really does that count.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
A year ago, it was 90% me and 10% him.
He's at home and I work outside the home so it was hard for me go grocery shopping, plan meals and cook them. So I got him to be more comfortable in the kitchen by getting meal kits that he would follow the directions and cook them before I got home from work. It's great. He is definitely more comfortable cooking now. He even made Easter dinner with the instructions I told him.
I do miss cooking (I enjoyed it), but it's good being able to relax after work.
There are meals that I prefer to make... like Vietnamese dishes and meals that I make mainly for myself.
kiwi / 728 posts
100% me. He would cook if I asked him to, but no one is asking him, haha. The few times he has prepared something....its been interesting
So unless its something you can just heat up, I'll stick to the cooking!
grapefruit / 4988 posts
DH would probably say it is 100% him, but I help him out with prep, so I'd say 75% DH, 25% me.
grapefruit / 4817 posts
100% me. But I wouldn't mind it in the least if he would ever give me an opinion about what to make. Making the decision is the worst part of it!
pomelo / 5791 posts
90% me, 10% him.
He will grill occasionally and makes breakfast when he's home. aka toasts a bagel. lol
ETA - come to think of it, that 10% is probably generous.
nectarine / 2641 posts
95% me, 5% DH. But that might be generous. Interestingly, when we were dating, I almost never cooked for him. He was only working part-time (waiting to start grad school) and I was super busy, so he often brought me dinner. Now I prefer he spends that time with DS (who I see most of the day), while I cook.
pomegranate / 3779 posts
70% me, 30% DH. He does all breakfasts because he wants to eat eggs every morning and 1. I don't like them that much and 2. I leave the house before he is even up on work days. I do all dinners, lunches and any extras.
kiwi / 691 posts
Pretty close to 100% DH. I'll make some breakfast or lunch for DS...but dinners are all DH. He's great
.
pear / 1693 posts
99.9% me. DH cooks dinner maybe once every month or two. I also do all the grocery shopping.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
100%. I don't mind. I love to cook and grill! I rarely ever wash dishes so it's definitely fair.
honeydew / 7622 posts
60/40. He helps with prep work, grills, cooks dinner 1-2 times a week. We usually cook together.
honeydew / 7283 posts
Almost always me. Right now I have steak tips marinating which he will grill tonight, so I guess that's him. If he's home early afternoon he will watch the kids while I cook - which makes it a much nicer experience.
@BananaPancakes: I totally agree with you! The meal planning is the biggest pain.
persimmon / 1071 posts
DH cooks about 95% of the time, but I do 95% of the cleaning. It works for us.
persimmon / 1043 posts
70% DH, 30% me. It usually ends up this way bc he prefers to cook (and is probably the better cook) while I entertain the kids. DS still has a big mommy preference haha. Then, I do the dishes/cleanup and DH plays with the kids when they're happy with full bellies
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
Right now it's 85% me and 15% him because of his work schedule and I'm home.
But he loves to cook and is an amazing cook. If he had it his way it would be more 60/40 him!
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
98% me. He will occasionally make eggs on the weekends but it's almost always me. I do all the grocery shopping since I sah (though I did when I worked too). I wish he would be more proactive with the dishes though.
pear / 1672 posts
95% me 5% DH. I wish it were not this way. I enjoy cooking, but sometimes I need a break.
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
99% me, 1% dh.
We eat out a few times a week though, so I get a break from cooking.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
90:10 me vs Dh.
I cook almost always, Dh grills during the warmer months. We get takeout once or twice a week!
