My DD was born at 6lbs9oz 19 inches long, NB was big on her, and she was in NB diapers, which were even a little big. at 5 weeks old she was outgrowing her NB clothes, and all the sudden at 6 weeks she fit into some of her 0-3 month clothing. Now she is 2 months old exactly and is well into 3 month clothing and she was 9lbs15oz last week so she is about 10 some pounds now. I wouldn't bother buying anymore newborn clothes honestly, it was like over night she all the sudden outgrew them all. She barely got to wear any of it, it seemed like.

My LO was 6lbs 9oz and 20" at birth. He was in NB clothing until maybe 6 weeks? At that age he was 9-10lbs. I have a bad habit of squeezing him into outfits that are a tad too small because I think they're cute.

Ella was 8lbs 8oz and 21 inches long. She is 23 days old and still wearing newborn clothes and diapers. I imagine we'll be switching to size 1 this week. A lot of her NB clothes look like she still has room to grow into them. She does fit into some 0-3 month clothes but not a lot - really only Mud Pie stuff which is notorious for running small. So, who knows. I'm looking forward to reading more responses.

DD was 8lbs 13oz and 19 inches long, she was in them for 8 weeks. DS was 8lbs 7oz and 20.5 inches long and he stayed in most of his NB clothes until 12 weeks but he wasn't growing in length very fast, he was in the 25th percentile at 12 weeks old.

DD #1 was 7lbs13oz and 20 in. (but a lot of that was retained fluid that she lost, she was 6. 5 lbs at 3 weeks) and she wore newborn for about 2.5 months.

DD #2 was 6lbs 5 oz and 17.5in long. She wore newborn for at least 3 months. I think we even bought a couple preemie outfits for her for the first couple of weeks

8lb 12oz 20" and wore NB for maybe a week or two (he was 9lb 3oz by his 12 day appt though...he grew fast).

6 pounds, 12 ounces, and 20 inches long. And she started out in premie clothing. I think she was in newborn then for a month or two, so maybe until 3 months.

It is SO impossible to predict how your baby will grow, though. My breastfed baby was 8 pounds at 4 months. I have a friend who's breastfed baby was 8 pounds 2 weeks after being born, and they'd started even.

She was 7.13 lbs and 18.75 inches. She wasn't a small baby but was very short. She still is short at 5 months which allows her to wear much smaller sizes.

6 lb. 13 oz. I think she outgrew all NB clothes around 7-8 weeks.

Meredith was 8lb 6oz, 21 inches at birth. She was 8lb 12oz at her 2 week checkup, and by that point had outgrown NB size clothes. I wouldn't buy any NB clothes, they grow out of them so quickly.

Also, she quickly outgrew some of her 0-3 size clothes. Some brands (Gymboree 1-piece footies especially) run small, so see how he fits in some of the 0-3 things because you don't want to miss out on wearing those either.

Our LO was tiny: 18 inches long and 7 lbs .04 oz. She was tiny in newborn stuff, and then at about 4-5 weeks they were way too small. We didn't have any newborn things at all, expecting her to be super long like the rest of our families and both DH and me, but she surprised us. We ended up getting 3 or 4 button or zip up sleepers, and maybe 5 of those nightgown type ones that have the elastic at the bottom. Since they sleep so much at the beginning anyway, that was plenty.

C was 10lbs8oz and 22in at birth. She dropped a lb in the first couple days, she was 9lbs10oz at 4 days old when we brought her home.

She wore NB for 2 1/2 weeks. She outgrew it right as she got back to her birth weight but she outgrew it in length before weight.
