I'll be 12 weeks mid October. So I was thinking of dressing DS up in a bear costume for Halloween and he could hold a teddy bear and a sign that says brother bear to be. At first it seemed cute but now I'm not so sure. What did you girls do?

@iluvboba637: That sounds cute!
We posted an U/S pic with a bow photoshopped onto it that said "After much debate, (D) and I have decided to get (E) a pink unicorn for Christmas. Apparently the stork did not get the memo that McK's have a long-standing tradition of gracing with world with male children...bring on the pink sparkles!" (She will be the first girl born into D's family in 78 years!)

I got C a Big Sister shirt and had her wear it when we facetimed with our parents, later sent a pic of her wearing it to close friends. At 22 weeks I took a cute pic of her wearing it so decided to post on Facebook, which was pretty much the announcement. But someone had posted a picture where you could see my belly before that, so a couple of eagle eyes friends had caught on already.

We had gone to Baltimore on the 3rd to kick off our 4th of July weekend. So once we told family (we just called them), I texted out a photo of the 3 of us with a message that said "Celebrating the 4th....member of our family! D's gonna be a big brother in February!"

For LO1, I hung a blue onesie on our wash line out back, and commented "to be filled on xx/xx/xxxx. I did the same for LO2 - got a little brother onesie and hung that on the wash line and commented with his due date.

We posted a family pic on the 4th of July with a caption that read, "Happy 4th from the four of us!"

For our parents and siblings, I think I will get LO a "big sister" shirt and either send them a photo of her wearing it or else have her wear it at some point when they are visiting. Since we will hopefully be announcing to everyone else right around Halloween, I'm considering getting one of those maternity skeleton t-shirts (with a baby skeleton printed on the belly) and emailing/posting a pic of me wearing it. Not sure if I want to be that cheesy though!

We just told our familes over facetime. We never did a social media announcement with LO1 and likely won't with this one either since I'm already 26 weeks. In a couple weeks our friends are hosting a sprinkle for us, so those photos will probably end up on facebook. I'm just not huge on pregnancy announcements in general.

We put LO in a big sister shirt but it took FOREVER for my parents or in laws to notice. Like at least 10 minutes - my parents in person and my in-laws on Skype. It was fun but DH and I couldn't stand the waiting.

I had a DD1 sit next to a chalkboard sign. There were two pictures - one where the sign said "I have a secret" and the next that said "I'm going to be a big sister!"

@iluvboba637: We just did the big sister tshirt thing. Nothing fancy or creative! But I think your idea is adorable!

I posted a photo of K in her crib, with an eviction notice on it that said something about her needing to evacuate the premises before Sept 17 so that a new tenant could move in.

I had a photo of LO with blocks that said "big brother" and a framed ultrasound next to him.
