From googling questions about charting when I was first TTC. Other forums came up, too, but this one stood out right away in that the members were thoughtful and smart. It's the only one I'm on.

While searching for chart information while trying to conceive baby #2. All the other boards either moved too fast or were not very supportive at all.

From WeddingBee! This is the only parenting forum I’m on aside from a local mom group on Facebook. That group has some craaaaaazy people on it but it’s the best way for me to find out what fun kid things happen in my area.

One of my best friends IRL had been on HB (which she discovered through WeddingBee). When I was starting IVF back in 2016, she recommended I come here for support. Boy was that a great choice.

@Sams Mom: This! Sometimes HB is a little slow, but I joined baby center once for a due date board and it had something like 23,000 members just for that group. It went so fast I couldn't keep up. It was full of drama, fake posters, just weird stuff...I didnt stick around. I'd rather have HB any day.

I joined HB way back in either 2011 or 2012 when it had just come out of Beta! I will be honest and say that I think it’s sad and very disappointing that Mr and Mrs Bee have just left the site to flounder and”decay” because a lot of the early (and not so early) members have put time, effort and money into building HelloBee into a vibrant and supportive community.

I found it organically searching for something baby-prep related. Took me a long time to join, I'm more of a lurker, but it is full of smart people who answer questions so nicely. Plus anonymous! I have some family who have joined my most helpful mom group on facebook, so I can't post anything I don't want her to know there

Yup, Weddingbee. I remember when HB was still in beta or whatever lol (clearly I'm knowledgeable on website terms over here lol) I didn't join right away though, since I was so far out from TTC at that point.

I first saw it via WeddingBee but wasn't involved and it was more of an "oh that's what this is, okay" and move on type of thing. Then when we were TTC I was mad Googling and ta-da! This gem from the past appeared.
It's the only community I'm a part of and I consider the support here a huge part of my TTC journey.

I found it while googling info on TTC #1. Now I'm pregnant with #2 and I recommend HB to all of my friends who are TTC or new parents. I've found it to be such a supportive community!

Like 5 years back there was a BUNCH of drama that went down...cliques and all that. The advantage of it being boring here is that that will never happen. -

@gotkimchi: I know! I figure, though, I don't need a bunch of people to make this community meaningful to me. It's more fun when there are a ton people, lots of activity, and those dramatic posts that generate tons of comments (like the grapefruiting)...but this is good, too, just different.
Do you remember that whole hoopla that went down? It started with someone posting about another poster who wasnt being authentic and then it turned into this whole thing? A bunch of people jumped ship after that and I feel like this site has never recovered fully. Plus, it doesn't get the attention it needs. -
@LCTBQE: Yeah, I just posted about it above. I feel like this place also used to be very material focused. PBK everything etc. Now, it's shifted. I honestly wonder how many "regular"posters there are. Like those who post at least everything month or so.

From weddingbee, though I wasn't a super active poster there. I lurked here for a couple of years before officially joining. I don't consider myself super active here - I check the site most days but there is only so much going on...

@formerbee: I think I know what you mean. Some sort of OG group? I was invited by a member of the group (who invited a bunch of people,) and it became abundantly clear that we weren't welcome, so I left. I didnt invite myself. 🤷♀️
