We were set up by his father and my ex's mother's best friend. Just a bit awkward

I didn't vote either because we met in high school. Buy we were only friends and stayed that way until we were 23! Then I moved across the country after college and he was the only thing I missed about home.

We met in high school. He actually tricked me into our first date! We were just sort of acquaintances, and he got a mutual friend to ask if I wanted to go bowling with him, another friend, and my now husband. I said, "Sure, why not?" Then my husband got our friend to call and say, "Actually, [other friend] and I can't come...." and then my husband called right after and was like, "I hear [friends] can't go bowling anymore, do you still want to go?" I said, "Sure, why not?" That was our first date and the rest is history! This was nine years ago

I love all of these stories!

We met through mutual friends. He went to college friends with my best friends cousin, and we were all together one night. We've been together since that night, which was a little over seven years ago!

In the dorms. I didn't like him at first because he had an accent (midwest, not a cool foreign one). He eventually won me over

We met because of my stepdad. He said he knew my DH and I would make a good match, so he invited him to play a role in an independent film I was in (a cheesy horror movie). We liked each other right away, but didn't start dating for a couple months because of the age gap.

He is my good friend's brother!
I was living in California and he was in Miami. He came over for Thanksgiving at his sister's and they invited me also. We met for the first time there.
We became friends at first, then started dating long distance. Now we're married and living in Miami!

Doing a musical both of us did NOT want to be a part of, one summer! I guess something told us to go ahead and accept the parts. We didn't play opposite each other (in fact, I don't think our characters interacted at all), but he kept thinking of different ways to start conversations with me and I kept "accidentally" forgetting my dance bag and having to go back to get it to spend more time with him! Our first date was not him sweetly/awkwardly inviting me out. He told me we were going to a movie and dinner and that I should pick and date/time. Loved that! Officially began dating on July 4th (he says, so we can always have fireworks) - married July 14th!

DH and I were set up on a blind date by his sister and my mom... We lived 3 hours away from each other and went on a "date" if you will with my mom and his sister. I knew the second I laid eyes on him that I would marry him (I even told my mom that night). I remember it like it was yesterday!

@lawbee11: haha! no! I should have added that we were together for four years before getting married.

We met on match.com but only bec my sister knew him and had worked for him. He didn't remember her but she remembered him - turns out we had friends in common from when we both lived overseas in highschool.

@sarac: I used to play Counterstrike with my guy friends all the time in college!! It's rare for me to find anyone who did that, too!

We met at work. We both started within a couple weeks of each other. We were in a training class and he was standing with another guy and girl that looked about our age, so I went over and said hi. We were friends for 3 years before we got together :). And all of us are still friends and have all been to each other's weddings in the years since :).

@MrsKoala: Amazing! I was more into Science and Industry, personally, but all of my friends played CS. We all worked tech support at a big university, and hosted big lan parties in our spare time. Fun days! That was more than a decade ago, and we're still friends. Now my husband and I have a toddler, and we're really excited for the day that she's old enough to play video games with us.

Temple.

We went to the same temple our whole lives but he's 5 years older so we didn't know each other. After graduating I moved home and went to temple often. He never went..... except that night because his friend was being deported so a bunch of them went to pray for him. His friends are my brother's friends too so I went over to say hi to them.... and there he was. I remember thinking, "He's cute, he's Jewish, and he seems put together. I'd like to marry someone like that."

Um. We met at a kink show. I knew his brother and his brother introduced us there.

He was working as the doorman/bouncer and I was there in an itty bitty corset/mini skirt. I may or may not have taken most of the outfit off at one point.....
