On my phone it's Mom and Dad and then IL's by their first names. On DH's phone it's Mom/Dad LASTNAME for both sets.

I started doing that because my husband mentioned people would have their belongings stolen and the thief would text the mom, dad, or SO contact to get personal information (like debit card PINs or SSNs). I was thinking though if someone stole my phone now all they'd have to do is look at who I text frequently and they could figure out who my mom and spouse are. Oh well.

I have mom and pop for my parents and actual names for DH's parents. I also use my grandparents' pet names instead of their actual names!

Mine say Mom and Dad! DH's parents say first and last name in my phone.

We all call my dad old man so he's old man in my contacts list. Mom is mom. In laws are (Hubby's name) Mom and (hubby's name) dad.

Mine are "Mother" "Dad" "Parents House" and my IL's are by their first names.

I always put important people to me as their relationship to me, because if *God forbid* something ever happened to me, who ever finds me needs to be able to contact someone who knows me and will most likely look for Mom or Dad in my phone if I can't talk.

I always find it very strange to have people in my phone by the names I don't call them! So Mom is Mom, Dad is Dad, but DH's mom is Firstname Lastname (I don't call her mom, and everyone but DH and parents has a last name in my phone).

I do like sorting by firstname in the iPhone, though - I think it makes finding people a lot easier!

My mom is her first and last name... but DH's parents are "DH's mom" and "DH's dad"
