I never got to surprise my husband in the past since he always knew we were trying. For our last we arent planning for a specific time so I am excited about the idea of being able to surprise him for the first time. How did you do it? Ideas? Suggestions? I only get one time to do this I want it to be cute and fun! Thanks!

I always dreamed of all the cute ways to tell him, but he was very serious about wanting to be there when I tested every time so I never got to do anything special. It might be cute to do something involving your other kids. Like dress them up in gender neutral matching outfits and then have a third matching baby outfit that one of them can give to your DH wrapped up in a cute package.

We were trying but still weren't expecting it. I gave him a poppy seed a d told him that is how big his baby is followed by the test. He couldn't believe it!

The first two times, I just told him right afterwards. The third time, he was at a dr's appt so i was frantically texting him. This last time, I put a "big sis" shirt on E and let her tell him. Took him forever to figure it out. *shakes head*. Men.

With this BFP I told him right away! We were trying and were on vacation during TWW; I had a super faint line and could not wait till we got home so I could re-test. Maybe for #2 I'd be able to hold out longer to tell him in a cute way!

I waited until he got home. Poured sparkling cider into a champagne flute. Gave him a card and Baby on Board car magnet.
He wouldn't toast or drink because he didn't believe me. The whole thing was a disaster really.
I had to show him the sticks and discuss the timing blah, blah. Then he did some Internet surfing before he finally was willing to give me a congratulatory hug.Next time, I'll just send him a text or wait a looong while.

I want to do cute announcements for future pregnancies. I was crying hysterically for LO 1 and he was with me when I tested for LO 2.

I just blurted out "Um, I'm pregnant"
You could always buy some newborn diapers and leave them on the counter

@Mrs. Chocolate: DH is a giant VW fan & works out of town. We bought a new SUV from them and they sent us this box from germany with a detailing shammy in it. I sneakily saved the box and the wrapping. When we got our BFP i wrapped the positive text into the box with the onesie DS is wearing. Then i messaged him at work saying that a delivery from VW germany came. 2 weeks later when he got home he was excited to see what it was. He opened it up and was completely confused, then shocked, and then oh so happy.

I don't remember what I did the first time? I tested on a Sunday when DH was home (we had been arguing just before too, LOL). I gave him some lullaby DMB CDs and a Dad book. When it failed a week later, I took the gifts back to save for next time.
This time, I found out from the RE nurse. Last cycle/IUI I had her leave a voicemail and I waited until DH and I were both home that night to listen. He told me not to wait this time so I got the good news in the middle of the day (and was hardly productive the rest of the afternoon!). When he asked, I lied and told him I missed the call and hadn't listened to the VM yet. I bought him two more books - Goodnight NYC and Where the Wild Things Are (his fave!). I also got him a card and POAS that night and taped the Wondfo strip inside under a post-it. Coincidentally, it was 10 days before his birthday so I played it off like it was an early birthday present - which it was! He was even more surprised this time. I think because it had been such a long journey to get here?

The first time I told him, I had already gotten him a onsie with his favorite baseball team and had it laying out when he got home from work with the tests on top (but in a plastic bag). For the second one, he knew I was testing so I just came back to bed and told him I was all sorts of knocked up. You know, I made that one special.

I put a onesie from both our undergrad and grad schools in an Amazon box that I'd bought a while back. I had opened (and re-sealed) the box from the bottom so the address label looked "new." I picked it up off the porch and was like, "oh you have a package!" He opened it and then pulled out the onesies. He looked at them, said "I think these are for you...."at which point I pulled out the digital test with the word "pregnant" on it and he then caught on! It wasn't too elaborate but was definitely special, and it's a pretty amazing memory so I have no regrets in having waited beyond the POAS moment to tell him.

@mrs-lemon-lime: yes, I highly encourage the Amazon box! Key is to open it from the bottom so it looks like it was actually just dropped off that day:-). -
I told him I wanted to go for a walk, so we drove over to the park where he proposed to me on the lake. We walked right to the spot where he proposed and were reminiscing about it, when I pulled my eyeglass case out of my purse, got down on one knee, and asked him if he would like to be a daddy. And then opened the case to reveal the positive digital test.
