I don't have a Facebook profile, and my husband does not have any pics of our kids on his profile. And we've asked family members to remove pictures of DD from their profiles; we're just not comfortable any pictures of DD or DS on Facebook, especially on other people's pages.

I cancelled my FB but when I was on it, I asked people not to post picture of my LO. And people were very understanding about it.

I made it clear that I didn't want pics of my LO floating around FB and people were good about respecting my wishes.
They always asked if it was okay first.

I don't have a LO yet, so maybe its not fair for me to chime in, but this is an issue I don't really understand...

A stranger on the street can take a photo at any time and do whatever they wish with it. Creepy, sure! But family and friends are certainly a step up from strangers.

What is it that worries you about having photos online?

@Mrs.Someone: Actually I would think a stranger on the street can't take a photo of LO at any time without my permission. It comes down to privacy and not wanting photos of my cute baby out there in the public domain. It just creeps me out and there are a lot of wackos out there.

Having said that, I have no photos of LO on facebook. My brother put a non close up on FB after LO was born, which I am cool with. No one has put any up since. My kid, my decision.

@cupcakemama - you absolutely have every right to make decisions for your own kid, and your friends/family should respect that! However, (unfortunately) there is nothing to stop that stranger from taking a photo unless they ask and/or you see it. A creep isn't going to ask, and will make sure you don't see

When she gets here, I don't want other people putting pictures of her on the internet anywhere. I MIGHT post a rare picture, but like you said, with the privacy settings of my choosing (HIGH!)

ETA The only exception would be a family member who has high privacy settings who asked me first!

I don't really have an issue, since we keep in contact with lots of family across the country via Facebook, so this way they are able to both of my LOs.

However, some of DH's family that I don't really know decided to start tagging themselves in pictures of my LOs. I am NOT ok with that, and ended up sending them lots of messages about this, and eventually unfriending them.
