We used to leave them on shelves and then transfer them into a big bowl, but Charlie likes to steal the money! So now we mostly throw them directly in a big bowl on the top of a bookshelf. It's not really convenient, but it's childsafe at least.

I have ziplock bags in my closet. What's worse is I have bags for usd, pesos, pounds, sols, and euros. It comes in handy to grab
A bag when I travel, or grab the us bag and take it to coinstar.

We have a little container in our office closet we store it in. When it fills up we roll the coins and deposit them in the bank.

We have an empty texas mickey of rye that we put all the extra change into. Once when the texas mickey was half full with change we rolled it all and took it to the bank - it turned out to be $114!!!!!!!!!

We have this humongous plastic coke bottle change jar. All the change goes in there. Every now and then -usually before vacation- we roll it and deposit it!

We keep it in a vase and roll the change once it's full. That loose change helped paid for half my MacBook!

We have a "piggy bank" not really a pig but it all goes in there. We take it to the bank when it is full. DD loves bank trips to use the change machine.

We have a 5-gallon water container that we throw all our change into and save it to cash in for our vacations. Since it is has a small opening and the change is a foot or two down, I think it would be relatively child-safe.

I have an old vase I don't use that is cute-zebra print, and we put the change in that.

I never use cash, so I never, ever have coins floating around. My husband sure does, though. It's just amazing to me how coins will just fall out of his clothes all over the couch, the floors, everywhere. I tell him he's pooping money and needs to clean it up. We have a big bowl on the counter in our master bathroom, randomly, and it goes in there. (Used to go in a big wooden old jewelry/watch/cigar box, whatever it is, but it overflowed max capacity so it's the bowl now).

We use a giant pickle jar. It was filled to the brim and emptied for our honeymoon. It's 1/4 full now. We're not as diligent about filling it anymore. Need to get back on that!

I use coins a lot. My friends totally hate when we go out for coffee and I pull out my change purse.
We have big denomination coins (5 and 1) as well as 50 cents, 20 cents, 10 cents and 5 cents. I make piles of the 20 and 10 cent ones will my friends hide under the table.

We have a big container, I honk it was from our animal crackers from costco. It all goes in there, or if we're in the car we put it in a drawer so we have it for meters and food.

We typically just transfer it into a bag of change in each of our cars for feeding parking meters. If those get overfull, we make a trip to coinstar.

Hubby tosses them all over the house on top of tables, nightstands, countertops, etc. Once a week, I'll sweep through the house and put them into a piggybank.

DH is the big coin contributor in our house and we have a bowl on the dresser, a large container full in our gun safe, random coins on the floor (I pick them up when I find them but so does DD who either gives them to me or asks to put them in her bank). We should roll what we have and deposit it in the bank but apparently keeping it around comforts DH.

We have a big glass jar in our living room - i bought it home goods when we first moved in together. After 2 years we accumulated over $500. We used it as our puppy fund and it paid for the $250 adoption fee from the rescue where we got darwin plus initial vet visits and pet supplies.

We have a plastic piggy bank (like literally looks like a pig) and we make our son put coins in it. He loves doing that. He figured out quickly that you can't take the coins out so he knows that once it goes in, it stays in there.

I have a change purse I dump it all into, but I really need to sort out the lek, dinar, pounds, euros, canadian, and and forints out of there until we're back on the road. I'm forever giving people wrong currency coins.
