Do you say it like Bee or rhyme with Leah. I am most curious. Thanks!

I would say either Bee or Bay.
Bay only because I watch Once Upon a Time and the boys nickname is Bae/Bea and it's said like Bay.

I would pronounce it Bay - I knew someone in HS with that name, and that's how they pronounced it

Thanks ladies! DH and I were discussing names for a future LO and we both like Beatrice...but I have always pronounced Bea as rhyming with Leah when I saw it in books. Recently I was watching a show and saw the person was named Bea (short for Beatrice) and it was said as Bee. Got me thinking. I think I would still say it the same though...maybe add an h to make it easier? That is what DH suggested.

@keiki_mama: @oliviaoblivia: Exactly what I was going to say. Bea Arthur, Bee.

@MrsTiz: ha I thought the same thing as you. I'm in OUAT withdrawals!
I automatically think Bee, for Bea-trice.

I would say "Bee." Interestingly, DD's name is Beatrix and when we say her full name, we do say "Bee-a-trix," three syllables (though not dwelling on the "a" sound too much; DH is kind of OCD about this). But we call her Bee for short sometimes, no "a" sound.

I know to pronounce it "Bee" but when I look at it, I see "Beah" (like Leah).

I'd say Bee. My Grandmother was a Beatrice and everyone called her Bea...aka "bee."

@MsInformation: thank you for your input! I pronounce both Beatrice and Beatrix with 3 syllables...that is where I got Bea=Leah from. Great name!
@stargal: yay you say it like me!!
