La-ma, but I understand why one would say ya-ma. The double l in Spanish takes on the ya sound but I think for English words, sticking with the L sound is right!

I say lah-ma. The LL in Welsh is pronounced as a throat clearing sound, perhaps you could start saying hck-ma hck-ma?!!

Lamma...even in Spanish I think it's pronounced that way. it's one of the weird exceptions.

It depends on who I'm talking to.
Lama for English speakers.
Yama for Spanish speakers. My dad grew up in the Andes, he is pretty particular about Yama.
