I pronounce it lama while DH prefers yama. LO really likes the Llama, Llama books!

La-ma, but I understand why one would say ya-ma. The double l in Spanish takes on the ya sound but I think for English words, sticking with the L sound is right!

I say lah-ma. The LL in Welsh is pronounced as a throat clearing sound, perhaps you could start saying hck-ma hck-ma?!!

Lamma...even in Spanish I think it's pronounced that way. it's one of the weird exceptions.

I lived in the Andean highlands for several years so yama is how I usually say it -
Lama. If you said it "Yama," the Spanish spelling means "talk to me!"

Lama...we actually see them raised locally. Llama means to call one's self in Spanish.

It depends on who I'm talking to.
Lama for English speakers.
Yama for Spanish speakers. My dad grew up in the Andes, he is pretty particular about Yama. -
I say Lama.
It sounds like a lot of you talk about llamas more often than I do!
