I'm going to send out invitations for DD's 2nd birthday soon and we are already overwhelmed with toys. I want to convey that no gifts are necessary, but I'm not sure what words to use. Any ideas? Also, just a little note at the bottom?
Thanks!

I thought it was considered tacky to put on the invitation so I have been kind of casually mentioning it to people as they RSVP, like most of the time they ask what they can bring. Or when I tell them I sent an invitation I say that although it's a birthday party we really just want an excuse to see friends and family so please no presents.

I always just out right say no gifts necessary! People end up getting them always anyway... If you think people will still want to gift, maybe you can specify what gifts? I always ask the parents too what they need/want.

@GreenThumb: we were invited to a couple 2 y.o. Parties where the invite said "your presence is your present--please no gifts" or something like that. We abided by their request but some people brought stuff anyway. I thought it was a tactful way to say it.
