I told a coworker at 6 weeks and my boss at 11.

I told my bosses last week, at 5 weeks, because I was already feeling rotten! I'm trying (TRYING, being the key word here) to keep quiet to the rest of my friends/co-workers until 9 weeks, when I have my first ultrasound

I think it sounds like a good time to tell your boss!

I told my boss as soon as I could, mostly because I was excited and knew she would be too. I 'came out' to the rest of the office at 12 weeks.

My boss is a really close friend of mine. I told her the day I peed on a stick : ) she also already knew about a miscarriage I had two months prior so she knew not to spread the word.

I think you should take the opportunity to tell her in person since you'll be in the "safe zone" past 12 weeks and you will have confirmed viability with the NT scan

@JoJoGirl: I'm in a similar position as you. Just started in February and 13 weeks this week. I had a review a week back, and I'm supposed to hear about a compensation increase this week, so I think that's partially why I'm holding off. Its odd, but I don't have this great desire to tell the world yet. It's nice to have one special secret.

In your case, I would tell your boss since you don't see her often.

I was so excited I told my boss right after I told my parents. I was just about 12 weeks.

@JoJoGirl: haha! I had emailed my boss to ask for a meetingas well. He wrote back and said he was out of town for a couple days, did I need him to call me? I wrote back and said no it can wait till you get back and to not worry, I wasn't quitting! He wrote back thanks for letting him know cause he was afraid that was it. So it must be a boss think that is right where they go. I don't think you should feel bad at all that you haven't been there long. It happens all the time. Be glad that she reacted well!!! I guess this means your scan went well today:)

I told my boss at 6 weeks. I had early bleeding and called in sick for one dr appt then was late for another dr appt a week later, and then they wanted to see me again a week later, so I figured, I'd better tell her or she's going to figure it out. She was great. 2 coworkers then guessed over the next few weeks and I told another one bc we were going to an event together and my pants were so tight and my boobs were exploding everywhere and I was just over it. Then I announced it to the rest of work (well, my boss did with my permission) at 12 weeks. I wouldn't have been able to hide it much longer, I don't know how ppl go 20 weeks without announcing, I already had a sizable bump at 14 weeks.

I THOUGHT that everyone in my office knew because I had so many doctor's appointments early on in my pregnancy due to spotting. But when I eventually told my boss (and everyone else) at 15 weeks, they were all pleasantly surprised!

I told my immediate bosses at 6 weeks because we are very close, but I didnt tell my CEO or senior management until about 21 weeks. I wasnt really showing, so I hid it as long as I could. I could have gone longer, but one accidentally gave me up in a meeting in front of about 15 people. He was mortified lol

@JoJoGirl: I had some at 15 weeks that told me they suspected but most were shocked. I wore a lot of loser shirts and I would suck it in whenever I was up from my desk. I thought I was showing a lot more then I actually was.

@JoJoGirl: @Smurfette: I agree! It's a lot more noticeable to us because we're VERY aware of what our bodies are doing. I think other people don't notice as much. Plus I work with all men - they probably just thought I was getting fat.

@JoJoGirl: yep. I have a super long torso, so it was a small bump all the way to the end. I wore regular abercrombie jeans on my due date lol. After I told everyone, I did have two men at work go "we had a bet going. I said you were pregnant, Bob said you were getting fat." I was like "wow thanks guys,,,," And they were like "no! You dont LOOK fat, you have less of a defined waist now!" Keep digging youre hole guys, lol

@Smurfette: Men are both clueless AND scared. I had a couple guys ask me if I was pregnant (my belly is soooooo obvious now), but they both asked really timidly, afraid that they might be wrong, haha. They were sooooo relieved when I was like "Yep, five months pregnant!"

Really early for me, like 6 weeks, because I was/am so sick. I wanted the boss to know why I wasn't giving 100% sometimes, or was late/leaving early. I didn't tell everyone, just the boss.
