We're an hour away from the shore. They are not swimming beaches though because the water is too cold, even in the summer. But we enjoy just playing in the sand.

TOO FAR! 300 miles to the coast. Thankfully my in-laws live in Daytona Beach, so we get a twofer when we visit them, family and the beach!

I have plenty of beaches to choose from, all in walking distance! Pity it's always too cold here to actually *go* to the beach

From an ocean beach or a lake beach?
I could go to a lake about 30 min away or 3 hours for an ocean beach. WA beaches are too cold, anyways. -
i live a 5 minute walk to beach access. we live in a tiny bungalow so we can afford to live so close to the beach! we probably won't be here for long after the LO comes in january! i'm sad.

20 min from our house, 1 mile from work, and i still only go to the beach maybe once a year.

about 15mins to redondo beach/hermosa beach/manhattan beach area. i love the beach but i rarely ever go there because it's kinda dirty :S

Not close enough. We could be at one in about 4 1/2 hours but I prefer the Gulf, so 6 hours.

Ok, ocean beach is a good 3 hr plane ride away, but there is a giant lake (can't see the far shore), with gorgeous white sand an hour's drive away. It's beach enough for me!

If we drive between 45 minutes to an hour we can get to a ton of beaches, some nicer than others. I'm glad it's not too long of a drive.

I'm 6 hours from Galveston, but that beach is nasty gross. I'm 4+ hours by flight to a beach! Yikes!

the closest beach that we love is 20 minutes from our house! we LOVE the ocean and couldn't imagine not living near it!

thankfully anywhere from 20minutes to an hours drive it just depends on which beach we want to go too...
