How hard is it to get an appointment with your doctor? I'm wondering if it's always as hard as it is with mine?

I understand that they can't make appointments way in advance because they don't know who's on call until about a month or two out...but I called Friday and was sent to voicemail and left a message, I just called back today and was put on hold/transferred around for about 10 minutes before being sent to voicemail.

I LOVE my doctors and they're super popular so I understand having to wait to see them...but really? This seems a little ridiculous. and I'm setting up a followup appointment...not even trying to get in for a new issue or an annual.
