We named both of our kids in the hospital! So I guess it took us a long time!!
How long did it take you to pick your LO's name? How long before birth did you have your LO's name picked out?

We named her in the doctor's office after we found out we were having a girl. It took a few more weeks to figure out her middle name but by 21 weeks, we had a full name.

We named her a month after we found out the gender!

We picked out a boy and girls name the first time I got pregnant. Since I miscarried before we found out the sex we never named the first baby and we decided to stick to those names, so we had it before LO was even conceived.

We named him a few weeks after we found out we were having a boy.

We had names picked out about two years before we even conceived.... We actually had four names ready to go, first and middle, for two boys and two girls. We wanted to be prepared

Same as @artbee, we picked out names in our first pregnancy and kept them after the miscarriage.

We're about 24 weeks and still haven't picked a name out. We have a top 3 list going...

we knew her name before the anatomy scan. we tossed around middle names until she was born.

I'm due in...about 2 weeks, and still aren't set on names. We have a short list, though, and we're down to 2-3 names for each gender. We decided not to try to narrow it down anymore, and meet McBebe first.

We had a name by 23/24 weeks (found out gender at 18). It still isn't "official" because my husband doesn't want to commit before he makes sure that baby matches his name when he's born but, as far as I'm concerned, we have a name LOL. I just can't call the baby his name around DH!

Not until after she was born!
We went to the hospital with 3 or 4 names we liked, and then named her after we saw her. It took us a good two hours though!

We already have boy and girl names picked out, at least the first names. Now that we are actually expecting we haven't talked about it. I am waiting till the 2nd tri to bring up the name game.

We started talking about names when we began TTC. We have a boys first and middle name picked out and a girls first. It took us a year to find names we could agree on so I don't see them changing.

We knew her middle name for a couple of years before we got pregnant. We picked a girl's name in June when we were in New Orleans, a month before we started trying.

We decided on his name about a month before he was born. I bought wooden letters of his name to paint and finish, so my husband and I joked that it wasn't set in stone, but set in wood.
We did a 30 week 3D/4D ultrasound and he just looked like a Cameron. We just waffled over it for another 5 weeks until we were sure.

My husband picked out his name before we ever met, when he was in high school. I didn't like the name and didn't agree to name him that, but then a week before he was born I didn't care anymore (and hated how many names we couldn't agree on).
So.... technically a week before, and 10 years before.

we've been dating since high school, and since we went to college together we always drove home to visit our parents together. we would spend our 3.5 hour car rides talking about future stuff like baby names. we picked 4 baby names (2 boy, 2 girl) before we were even married!

We had two names picked out but decided to wait until we met our little guy before making the final decision.

We had his name finalized by the 6 month mark. We had pretty much settled on the first name but went back and forth on the middle name for a while.

We had her name picked out at around 8 months, then a couple of weeks before she was born we changed it.

As soon as we found out LO was a girl, we pretty much knew what her first name would be but her middle name wasn't decided until we had a date for the csection.

We had full boy and girl name options picked out by 6 weeks. We are freaks.

Our son's name was the first baby thing we decided on during my pregnancy, so I think by the end of the first trimester, we had a name. We picked our daughter's name early on too.

Well, we found out the gender on Monday and announced her name then. We had one of each ready, and it was an easy call. We're 17w4d.

We had a named picked when we found out we were having a girl but didn't announce until after she was born.

First time we had the girls name picked out by 32w, didn't think we had the boys name nailed down even while I was in labor until I watched one of a videos DH took in the hospital and he used one of our top two picks (guess he had made the final decision).
This time I think we'll be deciding up until we actually meet LO. I have given DH my two two if a girl and don't have any strong feelings for boys names (guess I think it is going to be a girl); DH hasn't even started to think of names (I'm currently 32w).

Our LO was born on Sunday and we picked a name Monday afternoon! She was "Baby TBD" until the person with the birth certificate form started harassing us and we finally had to choose.

I have had her named picked out for 5+ years, however DH wasn't on board with it until 24 weeks along or so. He said it just grew on him one day and he knew that was the name for our little girl! I like to be able to use her name and she always kicks when she hears it (or so I like to think that's the reason!) ha

I have no idea and I'm 24 weeks. I think we'll be naming her in the hospital!

We knew Sienna's name way in advance. Mavrick too a little longer but still a couple of month before they arrived.
pomelo / 5628 posts
We agreed on a boy name early on but not a girl. Once we found out we are having a boy, we set a middle name and we're really happy with the combo...so 14 weeks.
pomegranate / 3350 posts
We had the middle names decided towards the end of the first trimester. At 33 weeks, still nothing for first names. We're hoping to have a couple options for either sex and decide when we meet him or her. So far we have 1-2 potential maybes for a boy and NOTHING for a girl. Hopefully this baby does not decide to come early!
