On the food you have in your fridge/freezer and pantry?
I think we could go 3 weeks. 4 tops.

Hmm. Just to survive, probably a month because DH has so many kinds of noodles in the pantry and we just stocked the freezer!
nectarine / 2878 posts
We have quite a bit in our fridge and pantry...I will guess about a month?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Not very long... we're week-to-week people, so we could probably survive 2 weeks before we were out of food!
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
If we had to eat all meals, it would only be about a week. We just don't keep a lot on hand and most of the stuff in the pantry is supplemental, like condiments.
papaya / 10343 posts
lol not that long. We were talking about that last night, anyone raiding our house during a zombie apocalypse would be sorely disappointed. Assuming our fridge/freezer still worked I think we could scrape together maaayybe a week of normal(ish) eating. If we were trying to really conserve we could possibly stretch it to 2+ weeks but it would be very rough. We shop week to week.

Are we talking 3 meals a day plus snacks??
AND a pregnant lady?
LOL I'm pretty resourceful at making something out of nothing. So I say a month, if not more.
pomelo / 5509 posts
Just surviving, like if we stretched meals thin to stay alive? I bet we could go at least 2 months.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
Hmmm, maybe 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. We are running low right now. I'm a week to week person but have enough "extras" to get us some very odd combination/thrown together meals. We wouldn't starve, but it wouldn't tbe pretty! ha

Maybe 2 weeks. I usually shop for a week at a time so I don't have a ton of food.
honeydew / 7230 posts
Sometimes we can't even make it through the whole week without going to the grocery store more than once! We do have a lot of rice and pasta in the pantry though, so I guess we could survive on those things alone for a while in a real emergency.
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
oh my gosh, barely anytime! we mostly eat perishable foods (veggies, fruit, meat for dh, dairy) so those wouldn't last more than a couple days, maaaybe a week, and we don't have much cabinet space. I'd say like a week and a half tops, but that'd be like eating oatmeal and plain pasta for most of the time!
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
Oh man, maybe a week? We eat mostly fresh foods so we have to shop every week.
grapefruit / 4817 posts
Oh man, forever if we're talking about survival. We have so much frozen meat. Like months and months, probably. Actual meals, though wouldn't be more than about a week. We don't keep much in the house and I do regular "eat everything in the pantry" weeks so that I'm not just collecting food.
eggplant / 11408 posts
A couple of weeks, probably. We don't have a lot of stuff, but I have oatmeal, rice, dried beans, tofu, some frozen meat, and a few bags of frozen veggies. We would run out of fresh fruits and vegetables pretty quickly, though!

Not long! We shop only weekly. My dad has a nice stash of food and he could have his family last months, if need be!
My amber 2-3 weeks if we really stretch it
honeydew / 7504 posts
Mmm...probably 2-3 weeks. I shop week-to-week, but have a fair amount of "stuff," like random half-boxes of noodles, frozen veggies, etc.
pomegranate / 3272 posts
Based on what I have in the deep freezer, a good amount of time. I really need to do an inventory of what we have in there!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
a couple weeks. I keep a lot of staples around. cans of beans, etc. lots of stuff in the freezer. I don't understand how people run out of food in a week!
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
We would run out of protein in around 2 weeks but we could easily not starve for 3-4 weeks (pasta, cans, etc).
GOLD / papaya / 10206 posts
I'd say probably 2 weeks if we stretched every meal. We'd be out of fresh produce in a week though and on to freezer stuff, then it would be the dregs of the pantry.
pomelo / 5469 posts
I'd guess a week-10 days tops. I've got a grocery order coming tomorrow.
blogger / pomegranate / 3201 posts
Not long. We don't have a ton of food stocked up. Our "pantry" is just an upper cabinet and it has all of our spices and baking ingredients in it, too.
pomegranate / 3895 posts
If we ate everything (and I mean everything) ... probably 3 weeks. A month if we went survivor style. We have an embarrassing amount of soups / pasta.
nectarine / 2274 posts
Maybe 3 to 4 days for items in the fridge and maybe 2 additional days for items in the pantry.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
Probably 2-3 months. We can our own beans and have a supply left, bought half a beef (and there's just two of us!), buy our grain in bulk, etc. It wouldn't be the tastiest meals but it would get us through.
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
Not that long. I don't like to buy a lot of frozen food/prepared foods so our fresh stuff would run out pretty quick. I suppose we could cook pastas to last a few days.
