I think we are in the midst of nap transition from 2-1 nap. Yesterday, DH put our son down for a nap, and he just wouldn't sleep in the afternoon. Granted, DS is used to me putting him down for naps, so that could be part of it, but he's survived a few days on 1 nap just fine, so I think we're ready. He's almost 17 months.

I'm just wondering -- how long before the 1 nap got long? Right now, DS can take a 2 1/2 morning nap if I lay down with him and snuggle a bit for part of it. He also naps with a paci. But if I put him in his crib for a nap in the afternoon, it's only an hour, tops. He hasn't slept longer than an hour in his crib in a loooooooooong time (except for night). I'm really really skeptical of him being about to make it the whole day on just an hour of sleep. But will that just magically happen? Can I dream of a nice long nap just happening right away, or am I totally naive? Lol....I obviously can't nap with him every day anymore, because I need to actually do stuff. Man, I think I'm going to have a harder time letting go of 2 naps than HE is!

If you have any tips or secrets, let me know. I'm sort of considering ripping the band aid off, and doing nap transition and paci weaning and nap training ALL at once. Call me crazy, but I'd sorta rather get it over with all at once.
